Title: removing thermostat
Post by: stumpy on July 06, 2004, 02:41:32 PM
Just wondering if anybody removed there thermostat and what the effects were? I was told to because my 600RR runs pretty hot, makes sense to remove it but wondering if anybody had problems with it...

oops, sorry didn't see it. Great write up Eric, Good points. I think I will gut the thermostat and see what happens. it can't get much worse..

Blocking the bypass can also help. On some bikes a significant amount of water can go through the bypass and skip the radiator. Blocking the bypass is ok if you are gutting the thermostat.
