Question from a new CCS racer. What classes would a 40+ rider, on slightly modified FZR400, be best in. Looking at the classes, I'm thinking LW Formula 40 and GT Lights.
Opinions?
Thanks.
Yes. And try the new Ultra Lightweight Superbike Class.

Welcome BLM :D
I'm in a similar boat as you. That is, starting out racing this year and over 40.
If your FZR is '92 or earlier, then you may wish to consider the Thunderbike class too.
Which region(s) will you be racing? If it MW or GL, then I may see you at the track.
Have fun 8)

That's right Dan-o.
And fit enough do do a lota stuff.
If you're serious about getting in better condition, ping me man. I'll put you on a mini BUD/S routine. You'll be a whole new you in 6-10 weeks. If you stick with it.

Thanks H-Man. I'm not new to racing, just new to CCS. Been roadracing off and on since 87.
The bike is an 88 model FZR, so I'll look into Thunderbike.
I'll be in the SE region, but I may venture out at times.

Yeah, dead :o

Thunderbike is a tough class for that bike. They race SV's and 1200 air cooled plus older inline 4's. Good class don't get me wrong, but I am surprised to hear it suggested as a good class for a 400.

Thanks for the better insight Cuda. Not that I hold myself out as having any particular knowledge on the class - hell I haven't even raced yet. You can chaulk up my comment to pure newbieness... or is it newbieosity? ;)
