Title: Colin Edwards is the man
Post by: rmahr137 on September 29, 2002, 08:14:35 PM
Congrats to Colin Edwards on winning the WSB title.

I think that Colin is an old CCS racer, anyone know for sure.

Thanks,

Rod

Here's a quote from "Colin's Story" on his website:

http://www.colinedwardsii.com

"In Colin's first year as an amateur on a 600 Honda, RC30 Honda, and a TZ250 Yamaha, he won every race he finished. He was unbeaten in his amateur career winning a record five national titles in the AMA/CCS Race of Champions at Daytona. He also won a record eight national titles in the WERA/GNF meeting at Road Atlanta."

It appears he was about 16 when he started road racing. When you're hot, you're hot!

Yeah Collin and Nicky both started their roadracing with the CMRA which is now the south central CCS affiliiate (there was no CCS in Texas at the time)
