Title: AMA Barber race #1 (results)
Post by: GSXR RACER MIKE on May 15, 2004, 01:56:04 PM
Matt Maldin steals Jake Zempke's almost win from him on the last lap after Jake had led for the majority of the race. Eric Bostrom crashed the Ducati, so the Ducati doesn't finish yet again. Ben Bostrom crashed the Honda while leading. Yates high-sided in some oil during practice and hurt his shoulder, but started the race anyways, and went on to crash twice in the race and DNF.

Congrats to Maldin on his continued Domination on the Suzuki! :)

Uhm... you may wanna add *SPOILER* to the title of this, cause some people may get mad.   I watched it live, so I know what happened.

Also, I have it on my harddrives and can FTP it to you if you wanna see it.  Big file though.  7.2 GB

I have a T1 at home, so I can send it if you have the bandwidth to recieve.  ;D

Jake just has to remember 1 thing:

1. You slow down the pace one bit, and Mladin will be passing by you shorly, regardless of the gap you have on him.

I think all the factory teams other than Suzuki need do do some spring cleaning of their riders!  Come on!  Can't someone keep up with Mladin?  Ben...? Miguel...? Eric...?  Anyone...?

I personally like Barber, it's a blast to race on. If you haven't been there before you have no idea what the elevation changes, blind corners, and strong G force turns are like. The onboard video and other TV coverage just doesn't do the place justice. Going into turn 1 you can't really see where your going till your there, then you drop down the hill during the turn and flick it over to the other side while the suspension is compressing hard as you head up the next hill into the next turn. The whole circuit is like that, it's awesome! ;D
