Title: Is it is or is it ain't
Post by: Jeff on May 06, 2004, 05:56:18 AM
gonna rain this weekend at BHF...

This weather forecast has changed a dozen times in the last day...  Sigh.  I was hoping to go out tonight, and practice tomorrow.  Pulled the rear rain to swap with a practice DOT.  Probably not a good idea I guess...

Thoughts of saving my money are coming to mind...

Then again, I did win my first race in the rain last year...

I just hate the setup/teardown in the rain.

As long as it's not cold, too, it can rain all day for all I care.  I hate cold AND rain.

Or that in between crap we got Sunday at RA...right before a race.  Yuck.

I'm so excited to get back to Blackhawk!

Well, since the forecast changed like a half a dozen times today, I'll say it's not going to rain during my races and the track will be dry for them.

Heck, I'm leaving the rains and umbrella's at home!

Jeff, you know if you bring the rains it will be dry, and if you leave 'em at home it will rain. I think Brian McLaughlin could come up with a formula of rain to dry ratio in relation to racers with/without rain tires on hand.  ::) ;) ;D

If you leave the rains at home, the probability of rain is 100%.

If you bring the rains, the probability of rain is less. It is better if you have the rains mounted on spare wheels, then the less increases by a factor of a lot, if you have rotors on the rain wheels, there if the additional factor of a h$ll of.

So the ratio is less to 1 for rain tires, a lot less to 1 for mounted rain tires and a h$ll of a lot less to 1 for mounted rain tires with rotors.

Proof. One year at Brainerd, both Rick and I had 3 races on the same day, none of them the same, none of them back to back. It was wet/raining for Rick's races. The track was dry (used slicks) for my races. I had rain tires, mounted with rotors, Rick did not have any rain tires. QED.

Was supposed to rain today, but the sky was blue for most the day. ::)
