Someone had to start it! ;D Also who besides myself and GSXRMike are going to be at Daves School on the 6th?
Not the 6th... :'(
But we'll be there that night! :D
I'll be there the 8th and 9th. Got a stupid HIPAA seminar to go to on Friday for work. >:(
I will be there Friday. I am pissed and I want my redemption! Did I tell you that I seized my bike during the LWGP race on saturday at RA? I knew I lost a bit of power between turn 4 and 5 and knew something was wrong but the bike kept running so I finished the race. Took the motor apart a few nights ago and and found that the piston kissed the cylinder in a major way. Tremendous amount of blow by. Surprised that it didn't lock up completely. Castrol A747 does wonders for a 2 smoker.
MJ.. Sunday! LWGP! You going down! ;)
QuoteGot a stupid HIPAA seminar to go to on Friday for work. >:(
LOL....
HIPPA = The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
I deal with that at work all the time so now when I go to a physician I just tell them I know what it is, just let me sign it. The look of surprise is priceless. ;D
Learning about this act is about as much fun as watching paint dry (unless it's the paint on your race bike).
We won't be there the weekend of the 8th, but were shooting for Memorial Day Weekend. Keep your fingers crossed.
Dawn ;)
Ill be there on the 6th .
Does someone have a beacon ?
Roll Call...
We're not actors...not that I'm bad at....
ACTING! (SNL?)
Um, I'll be at that school thing.
I have an XT beacon, but that doesn't work on the Micron timers.
Won't be around for Friday practice as I will be doing a presentation at my local elementary school. I'll be there for races and for my school on the 10th also...
Tell me about it. HIPAA is actually not too bad once implemented but its a lot of work to get a company to comply with it. I am working on the EPHI provisions right now so I can have everything implemented before April 2005. :P
Its funny though when the teenager at wallgreens gets confused when you try to explain to them what that form actually means. ;D

LOL!!!!
I'll top that one...
Try explaining that to an 85 year old who's hard of hearing and on Medicare. :o
Dawn ;)
I will probably be there on sunday. Bri- for having a super single you finished pretty good dog. either way I'm gett'n fourth place wood dog.
QuoteMJ.. Sunday! LWGP! You going down! ;)
I will see you there! Takin care of my jetting before I get there also, plus I'll have the Super Dave knowlege fresh in my mind! Do I get a head start? ;D

Ya, that "school thing" should be pretty cool from all the hype I've been hearing, I think it is good that your attending Dave. ;)
Role Call--My role will be race wife.
Roll Call--Team Stumpy will be there. We'll pull in Thursday night.
Heather
Isn't that Mothers Day weekend? I can't ride with the shoulder, but I might come just to hang out if I'm not spending it with the Moms.
Thingy will be rolling in Thursday night. Last year was torure. I can't wait to be back!
I'm at Gingerman the 7th and 8th but plan on being at Blackhawk the 9th. My prediction is that it will be warm and bright, very bright. :)
Dave if you want a beacon I believe mine would work for the micron timers. You could use it if you want.

Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one to seize at RA, misery does love company. Please represent the 2-stoke community well, as I will not attend and beat all SV trash. ;D
I'll be there on Friday evening through Sunday

Paul, you gotta show man. How can I have my redemption if you're not there? show up bro!
I'll be there....
With a strange twist of luck, I might be on a new bike.
However, thats looking like a very slim chance :(
13X
I'll be there with Rice T.
Ytak
I'll be there, probably showing up Friday evening, then heading out for dinner.
Learning Curves will be having an advanced school on Monday the 10th. Price will be $150.
Kwak, if you need jetting help, let me know. TZs usualy sieze on the pilot or needle, usually not on the main unless it is several sizes too small. My wife is bored at the track with me riding a 4 choke, she may even give you a hand.
I'll be there.
Oh Mark, the big surprise is coming.:D:D;D
Maybe give it to ya at the riders meeting. ;D
VRU school on Thursday
work on Friday
might work, might race on Saturday
racing 4 classes on Sunday
:)
I'm going Thurs. for some adult edumication! :)
I could go back to a "normal" school and hang out with some young, nubile coeds but noooo, I go a school to hang out with a few haggard, gassy-smellin' racer types. (No offense guys, we all smell) :P ;D
Staying for some practice Friday and may race a couple races from the back pew Sat. if the bike's sorted out.
Sunday I think I'll go home.

If I had to guess I would say that I seized on the nozzle as I was running conservative on my main. Road America has extended period's of off throttle in braking zone's and with the carousel a long time on the nozzle. I need to quit racing at RA when it's 40 effen degree's.

What you need to do Brian is take Super Dave's RU on the 6th then practice all day Friday and race Sat/Sun. If you can beat all the SV boy's, then you can seek your destiny on the 30th weekend at Blackhawk.

Brian.. I definately didn't seize on the main. I fattened up the mains a few sizes since the last time I raced it in 03 but somehow forgot to change the pilot and nozzle. I have the feeling that I stuck it coming off of turn 4. ???

Hah! I've gotten over my bad starts. If I can get a good launch off the start... I'm right there. I might just have to put my 03 world grand prix spec motor in my bike for the next blackhawk. ;)

What did you get?
(I must be the last of the ZX6R race, well Chuck and I :P )
02 GSXR OLDER BIKE NEW TO ME.
I'll be there Saturday only. GTL and Thunderbike 8)
QuoteOuch, that will do it. How bad is the cylinder?
The cylinder isn't bad at all. I've got the melted aluminum off it and it looks perfect. Honed it a bit just for good measure. We'll see this weekend if the cylinder is still good. :)
No Blackhawk for me. Still healing. But I'll be back in the game by June. Woo hoo!!!
Hey the weather is looking nice, I might show after all. Starting from the back of the grid might be fun if I don't run off on the first lap.

Cool.. I'll be starting from the back too. I was too lazy to pre-register for this.

We'll be there with VP fuel, Bridgestone tires, brakes, windscreens, fairing brackets, knee sliders...with all kinds of stuff! See you all there!
Hey Rob, I just emailed you our fuel order. See ya!

Now that has changed from last night until today. Weather people are like consultants. They make a living by making educated guesses without really knowing how the world works. :P
I know, changing for the worse each day... >:(
Who knows tho, I bet its 75 and sunny!
Weather is a chaotic dynamic system. It is by its very nature, a unpredictable system. 2 weather systems that vary very slightly in their initial conditions can quickly evolve into 2 very different systems.

Sounds like a woman....
Ooops! Did I say that! :-X
Dawn ;D
I, for one am hoping for rain. I'm forced to race the 600 this weekend and don't want to have to buy tires.
I have a new set of rains already mounted, but the tires on it are really worn (too many heat cycles).
Come on rain!!!!
QuoteWeather is a chaotic dynamic system. It is by its very nature, a unpredictable system. 2 weather systems that vary very slightly in their initial conditions can quickly evolve into 2 very different systems.
And a butterfly flapping its wings in the Amazon basin can give rise to a tornado in Kansas.

But it is still a system with a logical order of triggers and events. We just can't logistically determine or track all of the inputs to or the causal relationships in this complex system yet. What bugs me is that most meteorologists won't admit that they don't know squat other than what the computer tells them. Anyone who could give a sunny forecast for the day when torrential rain is beating on the windows and keep a straight face is just lying to themselves about their own inadequacies and should seek professional help.
LOL, Mad.
I was at BHF today. Interesting trying to get a semi across on an open track! :o
Anyway, Dave's school looked good! Seemed to be about 8 riders there, but it looked like everyone had enough room to do their thing, and that Dave had enough time to get things done.
I think that's a better route to go.
FWIW: Most of the space along the front straight across from the hot pit area (east of it) is taken already by the Team Jordan Racing Semi.

Ya just had to have it leaned over enough to make it under the trailer! ;D

This was my 1st Visionsports school (VRU), so I can't compare it to the others, but I got some questions answered today by Dave that had gone unanswered for some years. On top of that I learned some things that I never knew and Dave got my bike handling much better. The majority of the day was clear with only a couple minor sprinkles, so it turned out to be better than originally expected.
FYI: There are a couple of patches that have been added since last season, but they aren't in bad spots and the track is still very rideable. :)
QuoteBut it is still a system with a logical order of triggers and events. ÊWe just can't logistically determine or track all of the inputs to or the causal relationships in this complex system yet. ÊÊ
Not quite. A chaotic system is fundamentally different than a non-chaotic system. What you describe is not a chaotic system.
There are some relatively simple chaotic systems and we cannot predict the outcome everytime.
Example:
I use a pitching machine to throw baseballs. The pitching machine is not perfect, the balls are not all launched with the same initial velocity, that is there will be some variation in speed and direction (small, but it will exist). All the baseballs will land very close to each other, say within a meter or two of each other.
If throwing baseballs were a chaotic system, slight changes in initial velocity could result in drastically different landing places.
The problem is that if there is ANY difference in the initial conditions, in a chaotic system, the system can evolve in a completely unexpected direction. It is not like the baseball, where similar initial conditions will give similar answers. These differences in initial conditions will always exist since measuring equipment will always have error. In a deterministic dymanic system it is not a big deal, the little bit of error does not have a very big affect on the outcome, in a chaotic system it does.
Chaotic systems do have patterns to their randomness. That is why the weatherperson can give a fairly accurate prediction out a few days. If the weather is similar on 2 days, the weather on the following 2 days should also be similar (most of the time, but not always). As models get more sophisticated it will make long range detailed forecasts better, but they will never be without a good deal of variation. The further out, the more error in the forecast, it is just the nature of the beast.
You guys are nuckin futs ;D
So who's still going to the track this weekend?
It's gonna be crappy ass weather >:(
Nuts?
Sorry, I grew up racing in a time when we couldn't use rain tires at AMA Nationals or CCS events in Supersport. Raced at AMA at Laguna and Heartland Park Topeka in the rain on DOT's. Qualified at Brainerd and Mid-Ohio in the rain on DOT's.
Rains rock.
And, as it has been put before, racers race. 8)
Paul loves the rain. In fact 6 of his seven wins last year was in the rain. ;)
Now he has to stop working so much and get that bike of his back together.
Dawn :)
Some of the older DOT tires were actually very good in the rain. The Dunlop D364/K364 was both a DOT race tire and an intermediate tire. They worked almost as well as a full rain tire. I could do stoppies and wheelies easily in the rain using the 364s.
QuoteI could do stoppies and wheelies easily in the rain using the 364s.

Only for you ;)
QuoteRains rock.
Although it wasn't pouring down rain, I had a lot of fun at Road America on the rains. :)

Wrongo, little grasshopper. :) It was a beautiful day at BHF. When I woke up in Janesville this morning I thought it was going to be wet all day. By the time I got to the track it was sunny and pretty much stayed that way all day. Nice and cool too. It was a bit windy but we got a full day of playtime. Now tomorrow may be a different story but I can't be there anyway since I have other obligations. Weathermen? Fugetaboutit!
