While watching the AMA races, I thought that I heard something about a new 195 DOT tire for 6 inch rear rims. Anybody know anything about it?
Probably a new slick for superbikes. Doubt it will be available for clubbers.
they had em out at daytona, designed for the 1 litre bikes.
there is a growth issue with em that you needed to make sure you had 14m of space between the tire and swingarm.
You can read more about it here: http://venus.13x.com/roadracingworld/scripts/NewsInsert.asp?insert=8576
Standard Dunlop race vendors should have em
Thanks Crush. That must have been what I was thinking about.
I have a 1K, but thought that there was a new DOT just for 6 inch rims. Last year, the slick was a 195, but a different model. This year they have 205 for 6.25 inch rims also. :o
Not sure if I will run the slicks, even though they are allowed in 2 of the three classes that I am going to race. You can't sell a slick to street squids... :-/

AMEN! Set up your bike for DOTs and it will ride just as good as slicks. Plus, the sell-back REALLY offsets the cost of tires.

Yes you can... ita all in the sales pitch ;D
they've got a GPA rear that's a 190/60 (I think)

And throw in a set of used knee sliders to make 'em really look like a pro! They can't resist!
