Anyone have the map for the Classic course still?
New layout prefered.
If you don't want to post you can e-mail it to me at f_riolo@yahoo.com
Thanks!
Frank
http://www.tz250racing.com has a pretty good one. Go to "Tales" at the top and click on "Go to Story" under "Dale Whelan, Las Vegas Classic course: May 2002." You'll find the map in the middle of the story.
The course has been changed on the off season....

Details?
It now incorporates a corkscrew loop section, ala "New York New York" 's rollercoaster! It is Las Vegas after all! ;D
I checked the LVMS website, it has lots of Neckcar stuff and does not even acknowledge the outside roadcourse. I also checked the Freddie Spencer school site and they had a pdf of the old track layout (outside course). I have a call into the track (voicemail) to see if they have any info yet. BTW- The LVMS site did have lots of phone numbers for hotels and that and some camping info. If you are planning to go for the FUSA weekend, it should be helpful. Also, for those who are serious about snatching some purse money from Larry Pegram and the rest of the FUSA regulars, we will be having a CCS track day and two day race event Apr30-May2. A real good chance to get some tracktime. There is so much time at our trackdays, riders ask when we will be stopping because they are tired!
Ok, that brings up the question....
Is there going to be a practice program on Thursday the 16th or anything?
Is this what you mean?
I'm a noob at the racing thing, but this is fairly recent footage.(I'm not the rider)

That video show the track being run backwards (counter-clockwise) from the race direction that I have run with CCS. Must be a AFM thing...
Yeah, for some reason still unknown they had us run it backwards.
Hopefully never again!!
Thanks for the Freddie Spencer link.
I know there's another map with the new layout on it, I'll contact LVMS and see if they may have it.

Corey,
Are you saying that there is a CCS track day on Friday the 30th as well as the regular LP Saturday event?
and
Did your trans hold up pon the trip back to AZ??
Great job on then Mic as always at Streets...
QuoteDid your trans hold up pon the trip back to AZ??
Uh, that sounds rather uncool....
Tristan, the trtack day is friday and the weekend is a twin sprints Sat/Sun. Should be some good action as always. As far as the transmission goes- we made it back at 4am. Took it to Nissan the next day and it looks like a $3k tranny- thankfully we have a extended warranty- best $1900 we ever spent. Hey, I forgot to ask but are you gonna have any other track time on your Suzuki by Vegas or are you going in blind? You should be quicker on the Suzi, although Will Eikenberry showed just how fast a Kawi can be (although I do not think the motor is 'stock' as his press release says- if it is he got a payday motor!)- see you in Vegas.
HAHAAHA...I was thinking the same thing about his motor. Did he really bust a 1.18.7?!?!?! If so my truefully stock engined Kawi 600 not 636 went at a 1.19.4 or somewhere around that time. Hopefully I will get some time in on the Gixxer but I don't have one single part for it yet so I am hoping for the best.

According to the schedule the GT races are on Friday as well. It's nice we'll have sport rider sessions between the GT races, give me some rest between GTU and GTL.

Corey,
Odds are that Tristan's first time SITTING on the new bike will be the friday am at Vegas.... LOL
That of course menas we have to get things... Like.. Bodywork, shock, sprockets.. lol
Tristan, we do have one thing for the bike.... The Master links! lol
Check this out doooode...we have chains and gearing as of today! Twin sprints....lots of track time to learn the new bike but, also means a looong weekend.
Maybe in two weeks time (end of the month) we will have enough parts to actually ride the damn thing!
LOL
Gettin a xr50 this weekend?
I found a drag for the track to groom it, so get the tractor goin!
Got it!!! ;D

Thanks for the map! :D
Wow, that's changed a lot. Looks like turn 2 changed to, in addition to the new section in back.
-z.
So which configuration will CCS be running? ???
Yeah, good question!
Anything will be better than backwards :-)
BTW, there was a huge dip where the old front straight met the new turn 1 pavement. Hopefully that's fixed by now.
Not so bad on a bike but brutal on a sidecar, had to look back to see if my passenger fell off.
Frank
Very cool- thanks excaliber! More turns to name! Racers you will have to give me suggestions on race weekend. Anyone knotice the company who made the drawing "Pabst- Racing"? Like PBR?
The bumps are just as bad on a bike if you run clockwise as it's right in the braking section. The new section was pretty slippery at the end of last year.
Running it anti-clockwise (the opposite way to how CCS ran it last year) makes the entry to turn 5 pretty interesting (that would be the one after the long back straight).
Hope to see you guys there.
