Title: Dunlop contingency
Post by: Clay on April 07, 2004, 10:16:48 AM
I'm confused on what we're supposed to do and how to get the contingency money.  I filled out the forms at tech and they checked everything off, I also put them as sponsors on my sponsor sheet.  However, I read that I have to register with Dunlop.  What does that mean, and do I have to?  None of the other sponsors (vortex, vesrah etc...) says I have to "register" with them.  So who gets contingency money from Dunlop out there and what do I have to do?

No I don't think you have to register,.. I think it said that same thing last year

Here's what it says on RTS's site...

1. All awards are Certificates issued by Dunlop in Buffalo, NY.
  2. Certificates will be issued by Dunlop ONLY on receipt of Official Results from the Sanctioning Body.
  3. Certificates may be redeemed at any Dunlop dealer or by Dunlop race tire distributors.
  4. Competitors participating in this program may purchase tires from any recognized Dunlop Dealer or Race Distributor.
  5. Competitors must display a minimum 11" Dunlop Decal on each side of the motorcycle (Fairing) and a Vertical Dunlop
Decal on each side of the Front Fender.
  6. Competitors must wear a Dunlop patch on leathers.
  7. Dunlop must be listed as a Sponsor on rider's entry form.
  8. Certificates will be issued ONLY when races have a minimum of 10 starters.
  9. Riders must complete a Dunlop Contingency Claim Form on the day of the race. Race officials must verify this form.

Clay.  I just talked with Steve (my local dunlop distributer) he confirmed it's all handled by the racing sanction.

Ok, so with that being said...how long does it take to get your certificates?  I'd love to be able to use them this weekend, but only won the contingency last weekend.

Yeah, it's nice to come to the CCS boards and actually get answers.  If you try to ask something on the WERA board you get one answer among 15 off topic discussions and 15 flames for being an idiot newbie.   ::)

And the racing organizations all say they send the results right away too, but it always seems to take 8-10 weeks to get contingecy.
