Title: New boots
Post by: EX#996 on March 11, 2004, 08:09:22 AM
As I tore the 'lovely' yellow duct tape off of Paul's boots, getting ready to take them to the shoe repair shop, I noticed that it's now time to replace them.  After three years of sweat, rain, and sliding on the asphalt (always on his right side  ::)), his right boot looks like it's had enough.

My question to you is, where have you had the best success in locating boots?  Mind you we are in the middle of nowhere so this would be probably a purchase on-line or mail order.  Plus, Paul - being the big moose he his - takes a size 47 or 48.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Dawn   :)

Have you tried Chris Merklein?

Might be worth talking to...

I think the Sidi's, Oxtar's, and Daytona's are good.

www.helmetharbor.com

I know they carry Alpinestars and AGV boots, and probably some others.  Give them a call, they race and use the products they sell, and generally have real good info on how the sizes run (these boots run small, these fit narrow feet best, etc.)  Their prices are good and they have free shipping too.

We offer many different brands of boots but our best sellers are Alpinestars and Sidi. I personally use the Sidi Vertebra Race and have done so for the last couple of years. I love them. If you have any specific questions or would like some info on these boots or any others please feel free to call us anytime. We also offer discounts to CCS racers and we will match any advertised regular priced item. But with your racing discount we usually beat most mail order pricing anyway.

Forget about all those guys.  I have a right Sidi size 47 that I'll sell ya cheap.  Well, it's a little used (okay, a lot) but I'm willing to make a deal!  ;D ;)

Seriously, LM's price above looks good.  www.newenough.com, who I like and have used a lot, is at $240 for that boot.  See their website for the description and sizing.

Tell him they'll last longer if he quits shoveling snow in them things!  :)
