Title: Power Commander ?
Post by: TBMain954 on February 21, 2004, 04:03:15 PM
???Yesterday a friend of ours was out for a ride and possibly hit the buttons on his power commander (he had the space stuffed with personal items, wallet etc.)anyway he thinks the items may have been pushing on the buttons. The bike now runs terrible. My question is, can he just unplug it,plug the stock harness in and have it run as it did before the PCIII?  It shouldn't matter but his bike is a '02 Honda 954, all stock.

Any thoughts and input would be helpful.  Thanks!   :)

i'm not sure if unplugging will do it.

best bet it to simply reload the map he had on there, that'll reset the buttons

You shouldnt have to download the program again...you should be able to push the buttons again and get back to the setting that you were at prior to the "cargo messing it up"

Shouldnt be that hard if the program is already installed,  it should be just a matter of readjusting the power commander.

  Just my.02$

ya, sorry, brain fart--too much rushing around packing for the big trip.

have your buddy turn the ignition key to the on position WHILE holding ALL three buttons on the PowerCommander.  Hold em for at least 30 seconds.

Afterwars, you'll have the options of raising and/or lower the bar on the meter as well as switch between low/mid/high.  I forget which, but to raise/lower the bars on the meter you hold em down to go one way and press it repeatedly to go the other way.

You'll want to have bar on all three setting set to 0 when you are finished.

Thanks for the input guys!  Hopefully, resetting the map works.  Worst case  :-/  ... is it possible for him to remove the power commander completely and plug the stock harness in to get it back to stock?

I spoke to him earlier today and gave him the steps to do, so we'll see if that works.

Thanks again!
