Title: 'bout ready & FI
Post by: Super Dave on February 21, 2004, 02:11:36 AM
Well, I picked up my bike.

I got my bodywork last week from Rennsport.

Was back from the painter on Tuesday.

Body was back from the decal lady on Thursday and Friday.

I'll assemble it today after I go and borrow a golf car for Daytona, and drop by the loving people at http://www.sportsmanspark.net

I'll have Jack from http://sliderphoto.com drop in and take a couple of "pre-wad" pictures.... ;D

So, http://4and6.com took my bike again.  Straightened it more than I could with a couple/few crashes from 2003.  Generally did some updating to the suspension from 2003.  I'm going to use a Micron full system this year.  http://micron-exhaust.com/store/prodserpent.htm  Last year, I just used a stock head pipe with a Micron slip-on.  This year we'll use the Serpent system.  It looks kind of funny 'cause it kind of looks like someone ran over it.  But the idea is to have a D shaped port to pull exhaust out of the combustion chamber.  I've ridden some bikes that had a good deal of porting work in a D shape on the exhaust side of the cylinder head, so this made sense to me.  Sounds like on the Dyno, it was pretty good.

Fuel Injection wise, I was stock last year too.

So, for '04 4&6 worked on something new.  I'm personally not completely sold on the PC's.  Laptops and a whole mess of wires...that's not my thing.  I really think it should be simple.  Actually, jets are good, but it takes time.  So, 4&6 has this new prototype FI thing that I'm trying out.  I think I got their first one, but I really don't know.  They were really happy with the whole thing themselves too.  On the dyno, the "CO" levels were just even all across the board, so, they figure that it will really be linear and smooth and strong.  The cost was half of what a PC was too.  I could change some settings also myself...probably won't...it actually sounds SOOO good right now... ;D

Anyway, I'm leaving with Nate on Monday for Daytona!

My bike in street form? I never saw it in stock form. Pretty close to that? I suppose I'll see you down there.

Ok, my bike is fast.

On Power Mist TO-101, my bike was making right about 99HP on the Factory Eddy Current Dyno.

I have a hard time on starts...I can't keep the front down...and I got down to a 1:56.153 or something for a lap time...and it handles well...well, maybe awesome is the best answer...

Thanks, 4&6!
