OK, guys what's the scoop?
http://amasuperbike.com/2004/Feb/040211a.htm
The amateur field may be interesting if you're trying not to slam into the NBA legend...
That could explain the track time at BHF last year.
Good grief!
Heather
Well don't worry about it Nate....
Obviously someone leaked it and we know it wasn't you or us. He's been through this before.
Dawn ;)
ohh ohh ohh INSIDE INFO cool cool, whats going on !!
Ask Tez he knows. ;)
I thought I was enough? ???
deleted at request of MJ
I recognize the bike and the track....
Dawn ;)
Too bad he is on a Suzuki, and that's the biggest Jor Rocket logo I've ever seen. Must be fun trying to pass with knees and elbos everywhere.
QuoteI recognize the bike and the track....

Yep, and that definitely isn't the guy I normally see passing me on that bike. :)
How many 3's are normally on that bike?
QuoteHow many 3's are normally on that bike?
Only one. That's Tez' bike, not K3's.
Dawn :)
Yeah Ike....
It really looks like he's paying attention too! ;D ;D
Dawn ;)
Well If MJ is reading threads, Mike listen to Ike, body position is very important in road racing.
Tez told me about all these "plans" of MJ's last summer. Tez also stated the one thing that will make MJ not do this is everyone bugging out on him and around him, he also said he wants to be treated like everyone else so, MJ make sure your all the way by with the front wheel, or it'll get chopped!!!! ;D I kidd, I kidd!!!
At least he can run in the F40 class.
I'm thinkin I may have a team idea! We could be like Danny DeVito and Arnold in Twins! ;D ;D ;D
His airness will have to change his nickname to
Michael "AIR Fence" Jordan..... ;D
just playen.....I was and still am a huge fan of the man.....and if he decides to run like Ike...nobody will be able to see around him ;D
and remember, the only difference between the words good and God, is an "O" as in:
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO SHIZNITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
da chizzzamp
Benji, What?
I don't get the good-god thing. Elaberate..........
Well, if that is MJ, let me say welcome to CCS! ;D
I think its cool that he would be willing to get out on the track, and at the very least sponser a team.
Please don't post anymore pictures that might or might not be MJ, at CCS's request.
Thanks,
Shawn
i took the pic down (which wasn't mine anyway), but I am rather curious on why MJ is afforded the right to not have a picture posted, while the rest of us aren't?
I belive if a photographer was at an event and took photos of me, that photographer would have the right to post them up on his/her website and I couldn't do a thing about it--why does this not hold true for MJ?
Because he's a celebrity with money and lawyers?
I wouldn't know... :-/

Yeah, what's up with that Shawn? Why can't a picture be posted? You can't even say whether or not that's him for sure or not.
I personally think it's too bad that someone in his position of being known and respected, can't seem to be respected enough to be left to do what he wants without being hounded. I personally don't follow sports, but I do have great respect for that man and what he has accomplished in his life so far. I hope he is able to get out there and compete and have some fun with the rest of us, like any other racer could.
I may or may not have done a bit of instructing at a track day that may or may not have been held for MJ. That may or may not have been him in the picture posted earlier. This much is for sure. I'm a published motorsports writer who's been trying to break into the big time with a national publication. A story about an MJ track day would surely have gotten me published, and might have been a career builder.
Did I ever mention that people who don't respect the privacy of others are a pet peeve of mine? With an attitude like that, I'll probably never be a big time writer...
I don't follow stick and ball sports either but don't you think, after his long career in bball, that MJ's use to all the paparrazzi(sp?)? I mean come on, the guys one of the most popular sports figures in the world. How can he expect to step out of his house without drawing attention to himself?
I'm sure CCS would like to keep a lid on this until he actually shows up on a race weekend so they can exploit the publicity for themselves. That might not be a bad thing as it would be great exposure for our sport !
I say let the cameras roll ;D
Stumpy and I talked about this. It would be cool to look over and say, hey, there's Michael Jordan. He came to the races, what a cool guy. That's about it.
HOWEVER, if a certain Nicky or Colin or (really out on a limb here) Valentino shows up, then there might be some hub-bub!
Bottom line is it almost seems natural for a guy like MJ to want to get involved in something like this. What a dream it would be to fund a race team! Not that I'm not doing my share right now, but, you know what I mean.
I hope he goes for it. I think he'll get a lot of satisfaction out of it.
Heather
PS - Is this or is this NOT the UN-Official CCS board? Pick one and go with it.

Chris,
At the right time, I hope you're given the opportunity to use your talent. I bet you've already written the article in your head.
If "big" MJ wants to come out and race, I hope he does. And I hope we can all treat him like we treat each other. because once the leathers and helmet come on and the visor goes down, he's just another one of us.
QuotePS - Is this or is this NOT the UN-Official CCS board? Pick one and go with it.
Exactly.
What Kim said... Once he puts on a helmet, leathers, and grids up, I dont care who he is, MJ is nothing but another target in my sights. (not that I would ever be behind him) LOL! But I would love to have him race the f-40 with us. That would be cool. It would be good for exposure for CCS and BHF thats for sure! But that's neither here or there... I have other things to worry about. I have a bike to rebuild and only 5 weeks to get it done.... AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Montez Stewert (a.k.a. TEZ) Told me the whole deal on this last summer and what was gonna happen. K3, Just so you know, I told no one. I was quite fond of the idea of being on the same race course as him, but to be honest I would be more star struck if I was on the track with Eddie Lawson.
It's too bad he doesn't realize what he could do to maybe put some spectators around the track at these poorly promoted events. Maybe seeing that Clear Channel manages him, they would realize the opportunity to put there racing on the level with coverage like the AMA gets.
Whatever his "Airness" decides to do, I will guarantee that the racers I know might be star struck when the first see him, but once on track he will just be another back marker.

I wrote it on paper, and shared it with a very select group of friends. It must be hard to never get to be a regular guy. I've met and hung with a number of celebrities at the track over the years. It's kind of heart wrenching to see them basking in being a racer, then suddenly some people show up and expect them to be a star.
K-3 you can interview me and take as many pic's as you want! ;D
Hey Kim, I hope you were refering to how tall "big" Mike is. ;D
