hopefully someone can shed some light on this one.
according to the schedule for the ex-unlimited gp races at r.a in april, they are throphy only races.
are we being screwed out of what little purse is available?
anyone know the answer.?
It's because it's a combined FUSA event. This was an issue in '03 for people like me that were following that class all year but couldn't run that class if designated as a FUSA class for health insurance reasons (my insurance does not allow any competition in Pro classes). They then offered a trophy only class for those following the class regionally, and the FUSA version of that race does not count toward your regional points. So if you want the $ do the FUSA version. If your worried about a possible championship do the CCS version.
Right, but FUSA doesn't have ULGP anymore...that's only for CCS races. Should be a misprint.

I just remembered that myself and was looking at the schedule for RA on the CCS website and saw the "trophy only" next to the ULGP classes. I wonder if it's a misprint or if it's because of the expense of renting RA?
i think i'll call tiffaney nice and early in the morning to see what she has to say.
what's the point in paying the extra $$$$$ to race ul gp if there is no purse. plus you have to do qualifying (thats what i like about ul gp this year).
what time are the ccs offices open at?
p.s
dave , did you get the stuff i sent to you in the mail yet.

If your following that class for championship reasons then you pretty much have to run the ULGP trophy only race at RA. The question I would have is if there isn't a purse offered, then I would assume we don't have to pay the higher entry fee for that class correct? Though I would bet that if there is a purse the FUSA guys will run the class and get the majority of the purse money anyways (I'm not complaining, just pointing out a probability). Where as if there isn't a purse then the race would be more representative of the typical competitors in that class that are in the hunt for a championship.
One thing I am going to like this year with the ULGP qualifying is that you no longer have to pre-enter that class. Since your qualifying determines grid position then you don't have to worry about lost entry fees in ULGP if you have a problem on Friday or Saturday and can't race anymore that weekend. I am planning on entering each days ULGP class individually on the day it is run.

Yes, I did.
Trailer is ordered in a nice color of mauve...
Really, they've got it slated for one of the trailers "coming down the pike" and I think it will be done and at the shop before the end of Feb.
thats why we call you SUPER DAVE. :D :D ;D ;D
thats just super news.
thanks dave.
Hey, ex_#65_john_deere, I just made the mistake of looking at your web-site and I think I have Retina damage from those background colors on there! LOL :o Man are those bright on my 21" monitor!
Quoteand I think I have Retina damage from those background colors on there...
LOL! 8)
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
mike,
i gotta organise the site a bit better,
i'm what they call computer illiterate. 8)
i'm not changing the colours though.
my new leathers should be close to that colour with some bright yellow here and there. ;D ;D
so what is the outcome if their is only a trophy and not a purse then is the entry fee still $70 ???
i sent an email to tiffiney to try and clarify the situation.
no response yet :o
Hey Brian Hall;
How in the world did you get the #69 plate? That number is never available! I think there is a secret cult or something that passes that number between themselves! :o ;D
i had to win alot of races to get it and be at the right place at the right time lol ;D
when i went to my first race i told the girl what number i wanted , this is in southwest last year ,and see said noway i will get that #, Rob Martin has it,well he stopped racing and nobody knew that
so she checked and i got it
as for the mid west region i am in now i dont really know just luck i guess ::)

Brian... you better check W/Tiff and make sure! I have a friend of mine in the MW regon that has had that number for a long time and I know that he got his application in on time. You better call or e-mail Tiff and find out the deal. (sorry to rain on your paraide!)
Road America pre-entries for CCS classes are $75 for the first class and $55 for each additional, post entry is $75 each class.

Can you tell us if there is a purse for ULGP? The RA schedule seems to leave us thinking otherwise.
I see that the schedule for FUSA is a bit different on one section of the FUSA website... ?
thanks for the info, ;)

Dawn....Yes, Dean-O knew about it the day it was posted. (I contacted him) He got off the phone with me and called "Texas Tiff" (lol) and got it straightened out. Dean still holds #69. Thats why I told Brian that he better call Texas and get the 411 from Tiff for the record...! Dean will retain his number without question!! Like I said... I hate to rain on anyones paraide, but 69 has always belonged to Dean and he will continue to run his number for the 04 season from what I have been told. Sorry Brian! :-/
just got off the phone with Tiff and i hate to rain on your paraide and Deans but 69 is my Number :P :P :P :P

guys -- guess who is here? being that i am not one to want to get into a debate i am just going to state my case. i have replied to the ccs office and have been informed that i do still hold ex #69 in the midwest region and i did have my registration in on time. the conflict that is occuring is that brian hall has been assigned #69 for great plains region and i dean hagemann have been carrying #69 in midwest region for the past 3 years. yes at this time i am #169 for formula usa only because brian bought #69 under team owner program. i am not happy of this but that is the rules and i do not have $500.00 just to run a few fusa thunderbike races to carry that number. as many of us locals know there are more reasons for me to carry this number than to just be like nicky hayden. i am a nicky fan and was before many of you ever knew who he was!
Even longer than I knew who he was?
Dude, what number am I thinking of....

If it's a Bill & Ted refrence then '69 Dude!' but if your naked and counting I would have to say 21!!! ;D

allrite...so i am gonna be a poop heer. pleeeeze stop bickering bout all this number 69 cr@p! weiner (dean) is #69 midwest, we ALL kno that. i am soo sik of listening everyday frum most i kno, woe bout this (me mum, dean, our friends...) plus, we all hav 2 remember y we r on this website - cause we RACE. not each other, not another #....we race tha TRACK. and also remember we are club racers...we r not nicky nor rossi, there is werk to go to on monday. yes there r sum perks to winning and beating another rider. but, that just means tha other rider hasn't accomplished tha track as well as we. be humble bout it, and show it on tha track. i enderstand it's off season and we're edgy and sum persons don't kno others...but c'mon, it's a number. and if sumone has that # and a reputation with that number fur years (lets say an instructor, racer, friend to us all with an excellent sportsmanship-like rep) we shood take a step bak, instead of flicking 'tude or getting all drama, and figure oot tha discrepancy. it'll be straightened oot by tha first race, i m shoor of it. ::) so lets drop tha drama, focus on preparing fur tha seson and hav FUN ;) i kno i will :P
luv, pookie :-*

Ike is most definitely a brotha. ;) A cute one no less. :o
Why do you think all the ladies like him? He's smoooooooth. ;) ;D ;D
notice kevin sounds off on how much it will cost you to race at a given track or event, but when they give the same number to 2 people(#69)and people argue about it on the forum he says nothing.
Costs, well, that's easy. But who's giving out the numbers? Not Kevin..
Phone home... :o
i should point out that dean was on my computer.and im using his name.but its really rich.
Quote...but its really rich.
Then, I would suggest, coming down a jet size or two...
;D
but dave...............who is in charge of the person that gives out the number?i dont want any beef with you cause your a good guy and i have alot of respect for you.just none for the way ccs does some things.did you know that dean dosent get number 69 in the midwest?seems there was some mistake or something.and another guy gets it.they gave him 69 in a region he dosent even race in.dean would never say this because hes such a nice guy so i will.ccs screwed him over.so whos in charge?and whos to blame?maybe not kevin.but as far as ive always known.....hes the main man.so id like to hear from him. Rich Feagin.
I'm with you.
I believe that Tiff handles all the rider issues.
This forum is not a place for the CCS staff to try to wade through questions...additionally, they are going to the Indy Show and Daytona is coming...contingency, everything...has to be a mad house down there.
Things like that have to be handled directly. Actually, most things need to be handled that way. Occasionally, Kevin, Eric, or Tiff will cruise the board, but, honestly, most of the banter on the board is about "unofficial" stuff.
It's Dean's number. Now they gave it to Brian. Someone made a mistake.
I can't believe I started this whole #69 thing! ;D
im not even going to reply to any of this garbage but you guys have alot of things wrong
What's wrong, Brian?
Quotei had to win alot of races to get it and be at the right place at the right time lol

Two digit numbers really aren't given out on the basis of how well anyone does in CCS. If it's available, you can grab it. I've seen first year experts get two digit numbers after following part of the series as an amateur.
If you move regions, well, you've got to work with the different region's numbers. I do know that Dean had 69 for quite a while, in the Midwest region. If he missed the dead line, I don't know, but there is the claim that he didn't.
FUSA, well, you can "buy" your number.
I don't know what to say. I'm not sure it anything is garbage, but somewhere there is bad communication...that's all.
i was joking about winning races, that was before all this started, second i do race in midwest and i did send my application in on time and from what im told dean didnt, third i didnt pay for anything, i didnt buy my number for fusa i asked for it and got it, fourth my number has nothing to do with nicky my father raced cars from the 60s to the 80s and used this number and im carrying on the tradition
i dont care what region i race under its all the same to me but i got 69 in midwest what can i tell you sorry
dean,i dont think we will ever be on the track at the same time anyways, i race all heavyweight and unlimited stuff and i dont believe you race in those classes, so thats all i have to say Dave ill see you in one of your schools
Yeah, isn't it just a PIA?
I mean, you're both good guys and all...
Something is just messy by it. I doubt that you'll both be able to have the number.
I moved from Omaha to Wisconsin in 1994. Same kind of thing, but I was using a 1. I was the "Great Plains" champion, and I was from that region, but now I lived in the "Midwest" region. Ended up having to swap "X's" between me and the other guy...but 1's are a bit different.
Dave is correct, Tiffiney handles the "Top Ten" numbers for each region and before the January 9th deadline, she verified 2003 numbers being renewed. Any form received after January 9th was put into the stack of those asking for numbers by date. (That meant anyone who missed the deadline went behind all those from earlier who were asking for new numbers, or about 400 riders, give or take a few.)
Please remember this is an "unofficial" CCS BBS, and while we respond on here sometimes, we do not read this every day (or even every week). The best way to get an answer is to e-mail us, not post it here.
Thanks everyone, and especially "Super Dave" #21.... ;D
