Title: Tamper Proof Torque head
Post by: smoke on January 27, 2004, 05:37:30 AM
What size do I need to take off the ignition switch on a 2002 gsxr 600?  Can I buy one at sears?

I have the tool. Socket attachment. Sears didn't have them, nor did any auto parts store I went to. Ordered mine from an industrial supplier.

Actually, lbk has it. If you want it, I think he'd be willing to send it to you, and then you can send it back to me. Should cost less than $1.50 to ship, and it's a $10 part.

lbk?

I just used a pin punch and knocked the pin out of the torx head to remove it.

You could also drill a hole in the head of the torx bit to fit over the anti tamper pin.

Thanks all.
First when the guy told me what the nut was called I took the wrong meaning. TORX wierd.

Nate and lbk thanks for the offer.  I stoped by sears and craftsman had a set of all sizes.  I pick it up.
