Title: fishing for ride share to the Heartland Park races
Post by: Steviebee on January 15, 2004, 08:39:10 PM
I havent decided on what im doing this year, (all the races or just the close ones)

I live in Indy, and Heartland Parks is 8 hours from me.   Any guys out there wanna consider a rider share from Indy to there ?  Or inbetween Indy and Heartland Park ?

8 hours is alot to do by myself, so im fishing to see what other guys plans are for this year !

Since there 3 races there for the GL/GP/MW regions.

Hey, try and get a hold of Mike Williams(GSXRMIKE), I'm hopefully shareing the ride with him also (Right Mike?) and see if he's willing to take another, one more to split the cost. ;)

Mike... we won't be there in April, but will quite possibly be in June.  I'll keep you posted.

I certainly wouldn't mind the ride sharing, but I get out of Illinois as quickly as I can when I travel, due to the B.S. 55MPH trailer laws they have in this state! For that reason I go west from Rockford, Illinois to Iowa where the posted speed limit is 65 with a trailer, then south thru Missouri where it's 70MPH (I believe?). Since it's like 5 hours from Indy to where I live I don't think this would work out going to HP (potential when going to Daytona though!).

And yes Mike, I am planning on having you ride with me, after all I need someone to change tires on the truck and trailer for me! LOL  ;D ;)

Hope ya didn't mind me "volunteering" ya!  Didn't think about the route!  ;D   Aww he!!  I hope we don't have quite the same experence as Daytona!  ::)

P3A Racing will be coming from Detroit.  It's quite possible that we would be passing through Indy, but we are only going to do two HPT rounds.

With 2 Mikes in this discussion I am guessing that you are asking me since I am the transportation guy? I am planning on going to all of the MW/GL/GP region events in '04 plus the R.O.C., so yes I will be going to Barber as of now.

I assume that Mike Jordan is going to Barber this season so I could pick him up in Chi-town, swing by Indy and pick you up, then on to Birmingham. We had a rather eventful trip  ( ;) ) to and from Daytona this last fall, but I should have those issues resolved before this season begins, so not to worry. If I keep my current trailer I have room for 6 bikes comfortably, more if we get creative, so that shouldn't be an issue.

The Barber event is still 7 months away, but if your interested I will make sure that there is room for you (incase other people want to go also). Otherwise I will keep you in mind as the event draws nearer. :)

This will be my first year racing.

Bought the bike a few weeks ago, and ordered all the parts today to start putting it together.

I am going to race wera this year and would like to do a few CCS races too....I would be interested in having someone along that knows the ropes alittle.

I have a truck and will have a trailer by spring.

Shoot me an email at leeyohe322@cs.com
or call at 319 8532. I live in the Butler area.

Since this is a board that can be seen by anyone in the world, you should list your area code and the state that you live in.  :)

I went to Barber with Stevie last summer.  He is an A1 travelling companion, as long as you like 80's Hair Bands!
Fortunately, I do! ;D
Seriously, Steve is a good guy to share a long trip with.  He drives his share, pays his share, works his share in the pits, grills a mean steak, doesn't whine too much if the beer gets warm, is fun to be around, and even loaned me his bike in a pinch!  If I planned on going to Topeka this year, I'd go with Steve myself.
