Right now all I know is I'll be racing something other than the RC51 this year. Who else is changing?
I will hopefully! Going to try to continue to race my MZ and am looking at SV650's right now for 2004.
I'm getting ready to put my FZR600 on Ebay and save up some cash to buy a SV650.
I'll be on a TZ250 as the main racebike for '04. I'll still be on the MZ for a few classes, so no need for a handle change yet ;).
Me! I'll be on no bike this year, so changing from an SV650 to a pedal bike. :'(
I'm going from a 97 GSXR600 to an 02Gix. Fuel injection will feel so nice.
Nate: Why are u letting the bike go? does this mean u are not racing next year?
Smoke: Needed the $ for my business and for school. :-/ So, I will not be racing next year.
I'll be traveling with Super Dave to all the FUSA events next year and some CCS ones as well, and helping him out and trying to learn a few things.
I'll be back though. :D
My team is changing from 99R6, 01 Gixxer 600, 2000 gixxer 600 to 3 03 R6's.
middleweight is going to be a R6 cup this year.
hey smoke, send me an email about the parts... I need to get rid of these gixxer stuff

Sorry to hear you're not racing this year Nate but I bet you'll learn a lot.
I sure hope so!
When I come back again, I'll be on a new SV. Should be a lotta fun! ;D
Dafan : u got mail, crap I need to send u one more
Nate: I understand. Does that mean u will be with us at Barber, Summit and VIR???? I hope so. If so I can let u use my other bike if u want. Plus I'm still trying to get on Dave training sched for next year.
Smoke: That'd be awesome, I appreciate the offer! But, I sold my leathers, and I wont be holding a license this year.
But I WILL be with you at barber, VIR, Summit, etc.
From my experience on and off track with Dave, his training is WELL worth the $. I learned SO much, and got faster faster with his help.
95% chance I will be in the same boat as Nate R. Selling the GSX-R for sure, and am either going to buy an '03+ R6 for the occasional track day - or spend the money on LASIK eye surgery. Finances for next year just don't look promising enough to race anything myself - something pretty drastic will have to happen for me to be out there running sprints next year.
Regardless, I will still be at the track every weekend, we're going WERA next year and I'll most likely be the Team Captain/Crew Chief for SMP Racing's National Endurance Team ;D
QuoteRight now all I know is I'll be racing something other than the RC51 this year. Who else is changing?
Humm... thats how I feel about my ZX6, Wanna Trade? :D
P.s. Truth is I want to change bikes, but my bank account has differant ideas about that :-/
i'm not changing, just added something bigger for next season :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Anybody want a well sorted AMA legal, 170hp, Gixxer 1000?
Guaranteed to put a smile on your face and keep your cheeks puckered!
What are you doing next year, Kevin? ??? Got a new 1000 or what?
Adding a bike to run in HWSS so I dont have to run my F2 to play with Kimmy. ;D ;D
IF things go right, she'll have to try to keep up with my YZF750R
I'm changing. Sold my Priller 250 & riding a '02 Honda 125 for next year
I'll be riding a Honda Dream 50 next year.
Nate,
Doing the Superbike series again. Still up in the air what I'm riding.
Wait.......Yep.....I think that's Yamaha calling right now wanting me to ride their superbike. Gotta go!!!!

I imagine I'd scare the last several years off my life on that thing. :o ;D
I am...can't keep riding that old 2002 750 Suzuki. Gotta stay current. ;D
I wanna go to the ul classes, I would love to have a 1KRR, but the release date and the parts, oh and the $... I wouldnt be out till june/july...
wouldnt mind the 600RR but the middleweight classes seem to make me feel as if i am not as advanced??? i dunno... maybe if i had both bikes...
i'm really sick of big bikes at the big tracks (uhm, that'l be with me NOT on one)...
Its a "wait and see" (again) for our team...
(hey, anybody got a race ready 100RR???) 8)
Hey Chef,hope the hands are back to normal.Still riding 02 954 #92. ;D

Can't use pedal bikes at Daytona, Nate. Working on a golf cart though.

Sorry, nothing new for me. R6 again, but I think I'll have a full exhaust rather than just a slip on. Maybe some kind of fuel thing too to clean up the lean-ness up top.
Maybe the H1 will run...?
Dave,
You may not have bought a new bike but maybe it'll feel like a new bike since you've straightened the frame? ;D
LOL, yeah, but I did it in stages...
April...toss it end over end six to eight times?
July...easy low side.
September...toss it 25 feet in the air.
Imagine how fast it will be next year.
The Buell is perfect! No changes at all in the bike department... now, as far as attitude changes. Lookout, here I come! ;)
Paul will still be on the SV....
... but after we get the motor done, I don't know how much money we'll have for racing this year. :'(
Dawn :)
Dawn, are you guys just rebuilding and/or getting a SS motor job, or doing a SB motor?
QuoteDawn, are you guys just rebuilding and/or getting a SS motor job, or doing a SB motor?
We're probably going with the Super Bike route. There is a way you can build them so that they are pretty reliable. Since 700cc SV's are legal for all classes except for Super Sport, Paul decided to go that route and not run SS any longer.

Just think...If you didn't just say that, you could have run SS this year too. ;)
I can't believe the cheating that goes on in this series. >:(
That's a GOOD point, Dave. >:( There is a lot of it out there. Sometimes more obvious than that, like 750 motors in 600s. :o (I know it's happened besides the guy who did it in the AMA as well)
Dawn: That makes sense. Just curious what the plans were.
So, is the secret to the AM LWSS Championship using the knowledge of Super Dave to improve riding, and then showing up at EVERY event?
QuoteSo, is the secret to the AM LWSS Championship using the knowledge of Super Dave to improve riding, and then showing up at EVERY event?
Yeah, to be in the running, you've got to show up. Do really, really well at the beginning so you can cruise, if you can.
Starting the season at Daytona always helps. Just gets you aclimatized to things very quickly.
And, yes...I can help...

Even if you don't use what S. Dave teaches you, showing up at ALL the events is key. Consistency my friend..consistency
1998 GSX-R600 to 2003 R6. I should have waited for the 2004 GSX-R600 :o Let the rebuilding start.

Showing up and running well. The competion this year was excellent. You have to preserve yourself and the bike.
Dawn ;)

Don't worry. You'll be really, really happy with the R6.
from the tried & true 2000F4 to the more current and sorted 2003R6.. likin it already..
I looked at a wrecked 600RR this weekend which would make a pretty good racebike project, but I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up a 2003 SV650S. Has anyone seen a good bargain in the Midwest? A dealer in Olathe quoted $6K but I'm thinking I could maybe do better than that... ???
Might know of a couple of SV race bikes for sale.

03 sv $4,100
Well the RC left for its new home this last Saturday. The garage has an eerie void... :-/
...soon to be replaced with the new race mule... ;D

Dude, those Diesel Kawasaki Mules rock...
I'm up grading from a CBR600F2 to a 1999 YZF-R6. Anyone know any do's and don'ts or how to set it up?
Jeff
Good bike.
The forks are Kayaba's and they are kind of weird. The dampening capabilities are just plain weird. Similar forks on ZX6R's.
Stock shocks are not long enough, and the dampening is a bit too much too.
First things first, I always change to Hyperpro Springs. That will at least support the load of traction and your weight. Additionally, if it rains, you'll be the new rain-meister. Since the springs are rising rate, they aren't as stiff when the bike isn't loaded up under traction...so, when it's raining and you can't go as fast, the rate of the springs is lighter. I was shocked how well it worked...and I hate racing in the rain.
After that, get someone like 4&6 to do some internal work on the forks and rear shock. Everything is about set up. They are a GMD Computrack "store" and they can get the geometry right. It makes your live easier.

Really, the R6's were really reliable, and they handle well. The '03 isn't much different, just refined.
The foot position will be a bit different. I do like using the Woodcraft rear sets with mine. If you can't afford those, you'll probably need some way to get the pegs up...Really, you'll want to get the whole bike up at the fron t and rear...they just lean forever.
QuoteDude, those Diesel Kawasaki Mules rock...
What tires would you run on it? S2 front/M2 rear? I should be able to leave some impressive darkies with this thing... ;D
Picked up the new bike Saturday. Can't wait to get it on the track (if the parts ever come in :()
;D ;D ;D
what joo get mang?
Kris,
What kind of bike are you riding?
Dawn ;)
He's got a new sv650. now he has no lame excuses when I whip his butt like I did all last year!
Are you back in the area? I thought you were away at vet school.
Dawn :)
I am at vet school. But I'll be racing some this summer, just enough to let Younger know who has the skills.
i'll be on my gixxer again plus i added a 636 to the line up
2003 CBR600RR to a 2003 Yam R6...
We'll see...

What skills? The skills to bin it while riding over your head? :P

Oh yes, riding over my head. Now lets see here...I crashed once last year, tigerblade crashes two times, now who's riding over their head? Just wait pal.
Kris, did you pick up the SV from my buddies at Golden Valley Suzuki? He mentioned one went out to a racer in your area.

Sure did! My grandparents live just outside of Clinton.
Thinking about an SV650 too.
