Title: Good-bye Bryan
Post by: Love944 on December 22, 2003, 03:48:39 AM
Dear Bryan,

I know you didn't mean for this to happen.  You were living your dream.  I still can't believe that you are no longer here.  Looking at you in that hospital bed, so peaceful, so beautiful, was the hardest thing that I have ever had to do.  That sound that came out of mom and dad will be with me and Kirsten forever.  Sorry I stopped breathing, just couldn't believe it was you... dead.

I remember the first time you raced at the Marion Coliseum.  You didn't want to, but Scotty Stump talked you into it.  Your face after you won was priceless.  I think you were 5.  You were so proud.  Dad was so proud.  We all were.  I still remember that football game in Venice, where you were all stretched out to catch that pass.  You caught it and that boy hit your feet and helicoptered you like 2 times, landed on your head and neck and Didn't Drop the Ball!

That is how you lived your life...Wide Open.

The biggest problem I am having with all of this is I am now an only child.  All the years, 28 of them, I have had someone to compete with.  Someone to keep me going, keep me doing my best.  I have lost the one person in the world who knew everything about me, my good my bad my ugly.  Through it all, you were still my best friend.  We have had our differences, boy have we!  But you were always there for me and I was always there for you.  All my weddings, hahaha.  The birth of Kirsten and Kolby, I will never forget what you said when you came in to see Kolby for the first time, "You gonna hold that kid forever or are you going to share?"  I will treasure the pictures I have of you holding both of them for the first time.  Kirsten says she will always be your silly nilly and no one else is aloud to call her that.  I will make sure that she never forgets that and that Kolby will always know how much you loved him, even if he can't remember.

I love you so much and miss you so much.  My life will never be the same.  I am going to hold you to your promise that you will be with Kirsten and Kolby forever, as their guardian angel and in return I will take care of mom and dad.

Be safe and don't talk Jesus' ear off, ok?  I love you and will cherish what we had until I see you again. And you will always be my Wabba.

Your loving sister,

Laura AKA the Crazy Mo Jo Woman

Laura, good to hear from you.

Certainly, Bryan was a good guy.

But what would the lives around him have been like without him in the first place?  You know the answers better than us.

I lost my dear mother over eight years ago.  Miss her too.  I remember the week we had with her before she died like it was this morning.  And I don't plan on forgetting either.

The reality is that she is not here in body, but I do realize that she is here with me in spirit.  I do know that.  There are people that have powerful impacts in our lives even when they are not here.  Sometimes it's just a matter of us opening our eyes and seeing that.

Bryan's love is with you.

Wow.  Who wouldn't be proud to have somebody love and understand them that much.  My eulogy will probably be, "Seeya, K3.  Now who wants his tools?"
