The investigation committee set-up to determine the cause of the crash that claimed the life of Daijiro Kato published the results of their findings at a special press debrief in Tokyo on Friday.

Well no matter what they say i honestly believe that the workers had more to do with it than they will ever know.. i have been in this field for a long time and they were not right.. this is somehitng i copied right from the report and anyone that reads this and knows anything about the medical field knows this should have been done FIRST before he was ever put in the ambulance

" In the ambulance during transport from the accident site to the first-aid station, the doctor and rescue worker immobilized his cervical region"

Sorry but that is just wrong
and this shows they know it but will never admot ot as fault

"However, when the stretcher was moved Kato's head drooped markedly, and it cannot be denied that this might have additionally injured his neck"

What?  You mean dragging an injured rider off the course like a sack of potatoes isn't the appropriate way of handling him?  I thank God that those corner workers and medics at Barber knew better how to handle the situation when my buddy Steve Diver broke his neck there last summer.  And gosh!  It may have been overreacting, but the red flag was out within ten seconds of the crash that Steve was involved in...
