Title: Lwt laptimes at Gateway
Post by: ts199 on November 21, 2003, 12:41:27 PM
I tried to search and found nothing.  Does anyone know what some of the LWT times are at Gateway?

What does Ed Key run there?  Fast Am??

Thanks.

Tracy:

I don't know what Ed runs, but Paul ran a 1:13 there last year.  I know that you, Ed and Tom Short were running faster than that.

I will see if I have the lap times at home.

Jannisch reportedly ran in the 10s during the GT Lights race this Oct. That was AFTER he crashed and remounted. Crazy kid...

I watched Steve Atlas run a 1:09 on his SV 2 years ago in his last race as AM.

I ran a 1:15 there, my first time there, my first year racing for what it's worth.

Hey guys, thanks.  That was my first race with CCS since the transponders and I didnt know how the laptimes worked.  I checked them quickly at the end of the day and I totally forgot what I ran.  I think I ran down into the 12's.  I dont think I could get my fat butt down into the 9's on a SV.  Maybe the 11's but no 9's.

Thanks all.

I ran there for the first time at the last Gateway event in Oct. On the Buell, my fastest lap was 1:20.7. I was a big sissy that weekend. BIG SISSY!!!

The best times I've seen at Gateway are in the  1:06's by the fast guys (Gordon, Lacavich, Kramer, etc..). These guys can be in the 1:08's consistently. Jesse Janish and Ed Key can run in the 1:12's on their SV's...

I second the 11-12's in LTWT.  Maybe an occasional high 10 I could believe, anything lower than that I would need a transponder sheet to prove.

It's funny how many lap times were claimed + 2 seconds when the sheets got posted  ;D

I got down to the high 8s on my r6 the first time there...but I'm also one of the slow ones...I'm not quite on par with Jesse or Kevin...
I'd like to see low 7s next year....
But again that's on a 600 not a a SV.

I've done a couple Mid 1:05's on the 600 according to the trasponder sheet.  Mostly 1:06 and a couple 1:07's.  On the SV I was running 1:10's until the pipe came off in the GT Lights.  The weekend was in October and it was cold and rainy for most of the weekend, the sun did come out a couple of times for us to make fast laps although.

Hey guys, don't know if you care but I know that during LWGP @ Gateway, Stiles, Rentschler, & Key have all turned below the 1:10's multiple times.  I have clocked #921 Aaron Rentschler @ 1:08 on his TZ250 three laps in a row.  Usually turns 11's & 12's in practice then turns it up quite a bit in the race.  Pretty 2-stroke friendly track.  Thanks
