A preview of the calendar is now available. Did you make it in? I hope so. Everyone who sent me an e-mail requesting to be in should be in there. I also tried to get a bunch of you guys that I recognized. Sorry if I missed you.
As always I owe a big thanks to the organizations and the riders. Thanks for 2003 and hope to see you in 2004.

:D I made it! Thanx Jack!
I think I'll buy most of my photos in one shot here, along with ordering my calendar. You'll be getting my order soon! ;D Thanx for all the work you do for us, Jack!
BTW: If you need help sorting, etc, I may be able to do so occasionally next year. Gotta see what I'm doing. Might be cornerworking on some CCS weekends.
Stumpy's parents are going to die and go to heaven now!
We need to tally up our order for xmas presents.
It's beautiful! I love the design! Thanks, Jack!
Heather

QuoteI can send Stumpy in for moral support!
There's a mis-placed "M" in this sentence. Do you know where it is? ::) ;D :o
Don't make fun of me!
I'm already ornery this morning!!!!! What time does happy hour start? It's noon somewhere! ;D

(Do I look like the office fixit girl today or something--I'm so not mechanically inclined.)

Nope! I'm sure the championship was hard to win, but to be in the calendar all you would have needed to do was send me an e-mail.
Not that it matters but you are in February behind Mike, #62.
Slider photo DIDN'T fellow there schedule last year!!!! they BLEW OFF all the CCS events but the first 3.

Hey Benji, I think a spot just opened in the calendar. :P
Yeah, those rat bastards. We should hunt them down... LOL
Jack, you just don't pay attention to WHO'S WHO in the world of motorcycle racing, you slacker! ::)
Already Benji thinks the world should be falling at his feet to worship... It's going to be a looooong summer. I wonder if anyone makes a helmet big enough for that head? ;) :D :-*;D
The truth is that I had a sweet pic of Benji all picked out and I thought it went in. I guess not. :( A LOT of people didn't get in. That's the breaks. :(
I know, I'll just make the back cover an Ode to Benji!

OK, I'll entertain you and try to explain.
Did you see that some of the dates in the schedule were red? Those were the dates that I wasn't going to make because I had other events.
Who do you think SliderPhoto is? A subsidiary of the ACME Corporation? It's ME. Jack! Let me give you some background. I'm a guy who works all that I can to pay my bills and try and have some green left over--just like most of you guys. On weekends I head to the track, because it's what I enjoy. I take photos, it's fun, people are generally stoked when I get a good shot, and that's fun too.
But let me help you understand, if that's possible, put yourself in my shoes for a second. A typical Blackhawk day is from 6AM to 1AM. What? Yeah, I timed it once. I closed my door at 6AM. Got in my truck, got gas, drove to the track, set up, took photos, sorted, took photos, sorted, packed up, drove home (1 hour) sorted some more, made the samples while I sorted more, uploaded the samples, updated the site, and wham, 1AM. In fairness I took probably 2 hours in there for a lunch and dinner.
Now ask yourself, while you're wearing my shoes, if you would make a trip to Gateway (6 hours) or MAM (8hours) knowing full well that after all that work, paying for gas, hotel, Web hosting fees, etc. that you would probably lose money on the deal? Would you do it?
I have, but I can't afford to anymore. And to some extent responses like yours doesn't want me to either.
My equation this past season was simple. For me to make the drive and spend the time was worth it to me only if I had the opportunity to ride. I don't race, so trackdays give me that opportunity. Going to Gateway and riding with Midwest Rider the Friday before the event, makes it worth the gamble of losing money for me. But if the forecast is rain?
I do what I can. But at some point I have to do what's best for me and what I can afford. And that's what I plan on doing. You feel jipped, somehow ripped off that I wasn't there and didn't post your pics on my site. Like I said before, maybe the answer is charging $25 for an 8x10, $50 or $75 for a CD, taking a lot less photos and not posting on the Web.
I enjoy going to the races. I enjoy watching you guys do what I can't on a motorcycle. But please don't think that I'm some service you pay for when you pay your gate fee. When I schedule an event I try damn hard to get there and feel guilty if I can't make it.
I'm confused.
We bought a CD from Jack at CCS in July at BHF.
We're lucky to get him once a year to do what he does. Jeez. :P
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK , JACK!
There's just no pleasing some people. ::)
VERY NICE ,again, Jack !!!! ;)
tho, I'm kinda with benji... ::)

Ike
I just ordered 3 of the caladers. Awsome job!!! Keep up the great work!
I am sure that 99% of us understand the situation and don't blame you one bit. We just miss you at the track and miss your great pictures as well.
Since I am broke and buy a limited number of pics, I must find another way to get you to the track next year. :) How 'bout unlimited use of the 4-wheeler, a cute little dog for Drew to play with and :o some great company. ;) I mean really, how could you not look forward to some more stories by Knuppy! :)
Jack has it all figured out! He pics the Nice guy with all the great fans supporting him and KNOWS those great fans gotta get a hot calender of there boy StUmPy! There ordering them by the cases! :o Benji, Your to fast to get a good shot of...He shot me on accident when I was chasin' you ;D Ike, Pipe down over there If that Honda was Red like its supposed to be you would of had been in it too ;D You know us HONDA peeps stick together..Hey Jack :-* Oh nice leather Jack. Haw, haw, Benji!
See ya later, Nitz.
QuoteI do what I can. But at some point I have to do what's best for me and what I can afford. And that's what I plan on doing.
Jack, I think most of us love you and count you as one of our own. What you need to do, you need to do. I think we'd all like to go to all the races all the time, but it doesn't work that way. Can't expect anything more, and I certainly ain't a gripin'.
Maybe this will help... :-*
;D ;D ;D
That's right, Benji is behind Brent in the small pic at the top of February too! Dang, I think I'm going to turn the calendar into a Where's Waldo, I mean Benji type of thing. You know, each month you'll have to scour through to find Benji. ;D
To beat a dead horse, the bottom line here Jack, is that you don't owe us anything. Regardless of what anyone 'feels' or 'says', until they're contracting you for a private photo weekend, you don't owe anyone squat.
I'm just jazzed that you got a load of good pics of me on the new bike during the LCPS track day...
Quote.

I absolutley agree with Dave on this one Jack. We love having you at the events but as we all know, you cant make them all to shoot photos. We just appreciate the awsome job you do and all the extra time and effort that you put in just to make us look and feel good about who we are and what we do. The only one you need to please is yourself! I personally look foward to seeing you on the grid nest season with your spiffy looking bad ass leathers! From me to you..... you da man!! I will get in contact with you about the calendars I need in the next few days. (dont sell them all!) ;) Gonna need 5-6.
I'm in November, I just want a BIG picture,....
Be honest, we ALL do!!!
But dont anyone get all tripped out, Jack and me are Buds!!!
He's the BEST, we all know it! I'm just from the land of trash talk....
no harm no foul....
GREAT work Jack, AGAIN !!!
I guess youre baiting me to order a full "Ike" Calander....hmmm....
it's like Larry said all year,
"what is this piece of crap you're bringen to tech?"
i didn't have a nice looking bike until the last BHF.
nothing worth taking a picture of anyway.
i'll buy a few just to show everybody i was the lone amateur behind the experts. my favorite is seeing Russ Voigt wearing the winter gloves over his regular gloves in that picture, not to mention the hooded sweatshirt ;D
and Chris, i can finally fit into a large helmet now ;D
Quoteand Chris, i can finally fit into a large helmet now ;D
