Title: Blackhawk dates
Post by: the_weggie_man on November 16, 2003, 05:51:22 PM
No April CCS Blackhawk weekend..... The Blackhawk CCS schedule is May 8-9, May 29-30, July 17-18, Aug 28-29 and Sept 18-19.

Thanks for the info Gordon...

Along with the RA website listing April 23-25 as a CCS date, we're starting to get a good idea of what the 2004 season will look like.

Wonder if the April Blackhawk date will be replaced by a Topeka round?

Aww, only 5? I wish we still had 6 rounds there, though. (closest track to me.)   ;D

Actually, I don't know if I'm even gonna hold a license this year. I got some other things going that don't cost money (which I dont have) and I can do track days on my Honda. I don't want to be forced to be an expert before I get an SV again, and can go faster and be competitive. I can run a 1:28 at BHF on an SV, and fast Ams were running 1:18s this year, and like 1:22s at the beginning of the season.

I don't think I ever finished better than 2nd last of those who were still in the race.

Careful what you wish for.

Weather in that area can be a bit violent.  You can have ice or sun.  But you can expect that it will probably be very, very windy regardless.

Nuts, and I'm scr3wed again for the AHRMA stuff at Mid-Ohio in July!

OPening races @ BHFs '03
If I am not mistaken, wasn't is 17 degrees out?...
I think I would rather face wind...

No, at worst it was about 30.

In 2000 we actually had six inches of snow on the ground Saturday morning.  Still, it wasn't that cold.

Wind?  I think if it's 40 and you get a good 40MPH wind like you would probably have at HPT...that's zero on the wind chill chart, right?

Maybe the date was eliminated all together? Some of us were asking for less MW dates, correct?

I would wonder if the Gingerman and Gateway dates will get cut.  No real way of knowing until the schedule comes out.  I really just want to know the FUSA dates...they will probably be at Topeka and Mid-America.

Gateway and MAM could go away without any love lost from me, but Gingerman would cause tears...  I love that track...

Amen Brotha!  I love Gingerman.

I have not been to MAM yet.  Tell me you don't like MAM just because of the drive.  It is a fun track, right?

It's my understanding that the first race will be at Topeka the first weekend of April.  If so, that would be April 2 - 3.

Dawn   :)

And then with the 2nd race at Barber it should be a good kick off to the season!  ;) (Did I just start a rumor? ;D LOL).

14 hour drive
110 degree - Africa type hot
dust/sand/crap everywhere
track was ripping apart
track had sealer that was slick as oil
they then put POLES around certain corners
Car oriented corner workers (like don't bother waving a flag or picking up those pieces in the corners)

I'm not interested in going back...

Well, it seems that the constant late winter weather continues well into April...  Fewer dates, yes, but a weather concern too.  Who wants to come and spend money on racing and tires when it's so cold.  What's it worth?

14 hours to MAM, Jeff?  How'd you do that?  I lived in Omaha for 25 years.  It's 510 miles to Omaha from my house.  Even in my bus that's nine hours.

Africa type hot...yeah, you've lived in Wisconsin too long.  And I don't think Africa has the humidity that you can get in OK, NE, IA, MO, KS.

As long as we are in "wishful thinking mode"  I might as well put in another Putnam request for early April.   ;D

I'm glad that all our requests for Putnam paid off, and now we can go to both events CCS is doing at Putnam next season. (What's that noise? is it the rumor mill churnin', LOL  ;D )

If CCS really loved us, we'd run at Grattan once in a while.  That place ROCKS!!!

CCS tried, but the dates that were offered were not good ones...

Okay, maybe 14 was a stretch, but figure in a stop or two for the kids, and it get's DANG long...

I was in non-vented black leathers...  It sucked...
