Title: KC Residents: First Date Ideas?
Post by: tigerblade on November 04, 2003, 06:44:49 AM
What's a fun thing to do on a first date in KC?  Everyone's telling me to avoid the movie cliche.  Union Station is pretty cool, but is that too boring?  Help a brutha out!   ;D

here's an idea. This is what I used to do when I went on dates many moons ago.

1.) Have her pick you up since you don't have a car

2.) Go to your local shady Korean owned bar and drink a boat load of Crown Royal while eating fried squid.

3.) Start staring down any punks that might look at you funny and then get mad at your female for not pouring your drink.

4.) Notice your boys coming in and ignore your female and go chill with your boys and drink some more and eat some more squid.

5.) Sing some Korean and Japanese songs on the Karaoke machine but give everyone hard looks so they don't laugh at you.

6.) Make your female sing a song and laugh at her.

7.) Take the party to the shady Korean nightclub owned by the same people who own the shady Korean bar.

8. Order  6 bottles of Heinekin and a bottle of Crown and don't forget the fried squid.

9. Get more drunk and smoke about a carton of cigarettes but make sure you look at everyone hard while smoking so you look cool.

10. Make your female go dance with the skanky girls you know.

11. Get mad when guys you don't know try to dance all up on her.

12. When the club closes, make the female drive with you and your boys to go eat breakfast at a 24hour Korean restaurant.

13. Make her pay for it.

So it's Chuck-e-Cheese or a Korean nightclub.  Both excellent ideas!

QuoteWhere dat?

I know that it's on the north side of town.  I can see it from I-35 when I'm heading south into KC from the north.

Good food.  Buy a T-shirt.

Down town has some neat pubs.

There is a barbeque place that is just awesome.  It somewhere, but I don't remember either.  Don't remember the name, but you order your food like they did on Seinfeld's Soup Nazi episode.  Just awesome.

Poor guy, I hope he doesn't listen to anything any of the you knuckleheads said.
OK, think of what kind of girl she is and what SHE might like. Heck with you, you think turn 1 is fun. What's fun for you would send her to a therapist. If you think she might be able to hold a conversation, go fine dining, you know, where they make you get a suit and make reservations. If it's a blonde, a trendy pub intown where she might be seen by, or can tell her friends. Just treat her like the apex with no sudden changes or jerky moves, and spend like it's your bike and money doesn't matter. Sic'em Tiger

One of the coolest things I have done in KC was go to visit the Steamboat Arabia Museum.  It would be a cool place to take a date. When I went to the museum, Harley-Davidson was hosting a supplier conference and we were bussed there for dinner and other entertainment but it was open to the general public too.

Despite my better judgement, we went to a bar/grill type place (her suggestion).  Hey, I wonder if there's a Korean Chuck-e-Cheese somewhere?!  That would seal the deal for sure!!!   ;D

That's a good idea.  I've been wanting to see that.
