Title: Racing in the State of INDY
Post by: smoke on September 12, 2003, 07:43:24 PM
I was just informed today I will be spending a lot of time at CRANE in INDY.  JOY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like I'll have to me there for a month, then here, then back there.  on and off.

What tracks are out there? is that the MW region?

I'm not sure about Indianapolis itself, but Putnam Park is about 30 miles Southwest of Indy.  I gets rave reviews and WERA races there.
If you feel like traveling a bit, about 4 hours straight north in South Haven MI is Gingerman.  CCS will be there at the end of September.  Another hour north of there gets you to Grattan, a WERA track, just outside of Grand Rapids. Grattan is a super track, IMO.  Challenging and technical. ;D ;D
On the left coast, on the border of WI and IL near Beloit is Blackhawk, which is loads of fun but there aren't anymore CCS days there this year :(  Road America is in Elkhart Lake WI and worth it anytime you can get on.
I don't know about south of Indy.
