Title: Role Call for BHF
Post by: Nate R on August 12, 2003, 10:52:44 PM
Yeah, a bit early, but I'm excited! I haven't been on the track since June 1.  :( :o   This will be my last race weekend of the year, and I will be there Wednesday afternoon through Sunday!  Gonna be a lot faster this time around.

So, who else is gonna be there? When are you arriving?

Hey Nate you know Team Stumpy will be there in full  effect. I can't get to all the other races on the other side of the equater like some of those other junkies ;) I've accually been lookin' at some Canada roadracing sites. Only 3 hours to Canada But I can't leave my CCS Homies, Besides I heard something about those Canadians wearing Hocky Gear for race gear......Scary :o
P.S No Offense Peire I still love ya :-*

I'll be there...  Somebody's gotta show Stumpy how to ride that new RR (or is the other way around  :P )

Nate, just a word of advice...  4 days on the track is a LONG weekend.  The last time I did it, I was on the downslide on Sunday and couldn't do my best.

Not saying you should skip any of it, but relax and take your time on Friday's practice.  Perhaps take half the day off.

Just take the rest of the fast guys with you so us slow folks can have a chance  :D

It all depends on the individual.  Four days is fine for me (I only have one race on Saturday and two on Sunday) but as we found out, five days is not.  We "stayed over" for Monday at the last Blackhawk... I can't see doing that again.  I wasn't able to execute anything to my satisfaction because I was tired.  For the first time EVER, putting on my helmet and going out on the track was a CHORE.  We packed it up shortly after lunch and went home.

Back on topic... We WILL be "home" next weekend, but it looks like I'll only be riding on Sunday.  Disappointing, yes - but after the last two weeks I'm just thrilled that my season wasn't cancelled altogether!

Jef4y, thanx for the advice. I hadn't really thought about that, actually. The main thought I had was more track time = a faster me! But, I see your point. I'm doing just GT lights on saturday, so that should give me a good chunk of a day to rest.

See you all there! Hopefully the weather will be nice! Dawn, how's the points looking for Paul in LWSS?

Nate:

Paul should have the Midwest points wrapped up in LWSS and LWSB so that all he would need to do is show up and make a lap.

Awesome! I saw Tom Short's multiple wins at HT, and I was wondering how close it would be. He did miss the Double points at BHF in April, tho.

Paul's ahead by 100+ points.

Paul however is 4 points behind your dad in Thunderbike.  He is starting to talk about putting the ZX-6 back on the track to compete with your dad's F2.   ;D

Count me in!  After a long summer of wrenching on Safety First bikes, thingy is going to get to ride one this weekend!  :D

Let's see... Hasn't raced all year... riding a bike that he has never been on...  Anybody want to start a pool on how slow I will be?  I will give the winner $5 to spend at the auction Saturday night.  (hey, isn't $5 what the beer costs?) ;D

You may have to ride the brakes all the way down the front straight if you are going to let me win.

Unfortunately, I won't be on a 600.  I am going to be running one of Knuppy's GSX-R1000s.  Although, I am hoping to ride a 600 (PLEASE ROSNO!!) for a stint on Friday.  Besides finally getting back on a bike and having some fun, I would like to ride the 1000 and a 600 so I can decide what to race next year.  (I have never raced a 1000 and only raced a couple of times on a 600.)

I will be at BHF both remaining weekends CCS races there. Time to start riding my 750 and begin actually racing, been somewhat boring cruising around at the back of the pack so far on my 600 (but it was still stress relieving).

Quoteheather,

Actually, he suggested Passing Other Suzukis...I thought that was better  ;D!

He's home in the garage with the RR (you don't even want to know what we say RR stands for) until Wednesday.  Besides handing him wrenches, I hand out a little trash talk for him, too!  Gotta do my part for the Team!

He actually got an afternoon off work today to spend time on it!  Those who know him know this is a first.  Never mind that he worked from 8:00 am to Midnight last night, though.  Yuck.

Stumpy says he misses your crazy ass very much :-*

BTW, Bill, I can probably arrange a few laps on a 600 for you  :)  I'm confident you will enjoy it and be impressed!  You might find yourself on a 600 next year...

Oh Jeez, I never thought about that!  I knew they were close...I should have never left him home alone with it,....what was I thinking!  My marriage is ruined.  Things will just never be the same.

Actually, I didn't think I like a roundy exhaust but the new Hindle does look pretty on it ;D

I go for the Yosh Tri-oval myself. ;)  Yes, on a Honda.

Really?!?!.... :)  Are you going to be there on Friday?    With the slow demise of the 750s, that is what I am trying to decide.  600... 1000... ???  I am sure that next year will be fun, whatever I decide. :D

Yep, I'll be pitting with Anto again.

Hoping to setup in relatively the same spot as we had last time, but since I won't get out there til Thurs night, who knows where I'll end up...

I'm coming out on Thurs night.  Not sure if Anthony is coming out for SD's school or just the day on Fri, but in any event we'll be there on Fri through the weekend.
