Title: Giovanni Rojas and Triumph
Post by: dock on June 20, 2002, 11:54:22 AM
Does anyone know if Giovanni is racing a Triumph TT 600 this year?

I have heard rumors, but have seen nothing to say it on this site.

Thanks,
Dock

Yes, he is racing a TT600 in some AMA and WERA races.  Not sure about any CCS races.  Tom(?) from Agusta Triumph has posted a few things on the TT600 forum (go to www.triumphnet.com, click on the TT600 pic, then find the forum on the TT600 page.)
Gio raced the TT at Road Atlanta and this past weekend at the WERA National event at Talladega.  He might race the TT at Mid-Ohio and VIR with AMA later this year.

He rode that thing in Unlimited Supersport. It was the slowest non-lightweight bike I have ever seen! He was riding the crap out of it though.

I think he was turning 1:36 on his Triumph at the Road A event.  I am pretty sure on his regular bike he turns at least 30's if not 29's or faster.  He is a serious fast rider.  It is impressive for him to stay with the bike as it is a humbling experience to ride on outclassed machinery.
