Sometimes I run across old topics and discover they are very interesting and often very educational.
If you run across any 'timeless' threads, perhaps you should let us know.
here's one "May quit racing"

Yeah, Havent see Jim (omniGLH) or Dave (lbk) in YEARS.
Every year at the end of the race season, I told myself that it was time to quit.
But every spring, instead of trying sell my bikes, I just prepped them for the first race of the season.
Maybe that's why I still have 5 bikes even though I have not ridden any of them in 10 years.

This thread has been read 6,900 times so far.
It's about continuing to race after a tragic loss. It rings with me because I quit racing maybe 17 times.

Wow.... 8 pages of discussion of rules / proposed rules for Ultralight Thunderbike class.
It is 4 years old, so not directly relevant to today. But I found it very interesting. It has been viewed more than 17,000 times, so it appears a lot of people found it interesting.

It was very depressing that everything was cancelled at Daytona this year AFTER people travelled, unloaded, and began qualifying.
At least in this old thread we can read about Daytona fun (and bitching.)
8 pages about Daytona and horsepower

From 2007, but I think it is worth reading.

Ah yes I remember that discussion. I was big into ultralight that year. I'm retired now but look at what's changed. On the good side, now amateur and expert are split up, letting some yellow plates actually collect a few plates to take home. On the bad side, the Ninja 400 came and was allowed into 500SS making every other bike obsolete.

More than 80 responses discussing track safety changes and racer decisions. Mostly about changes (or no changes) for track safety. Matt Mladin decided to not race at Heartland Park Topeka (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heartland_Motorsports_Park) and retired from racing after that year.
Yes, it is an 'old topic' but I think the majority of the posts are, and always will be, relevant.

For those of you that "were not around" when this happened, here is an article that puts the HPT event and his retirement in perspective.

Just ran across this one......
It is about WERA versus CCS tech inspection.
I started road racing with WERA so I see why they are so "tough." But y'all can read this and decide for yourselves.

Still a good topic to discuss.
I have more ideas why, but they are issues out of individual control.
