Title: CCS @ Road America Pricing
Post by: Zaph on April 21, 2016, 06:30:13 PM
So far I'm a little disappointed that everyone I know who races is skipping Road America because of the prices this year.

But I was wondering, do the race fees include Friday practice, or is that extra?

The pre-entry form says "Practice pre-entry is $145 for those events with an ASRA/CCS hosted practice before the event and counts as a first entry for the event. (These events are: Summit Point in May, Blackhawk Farms in May and August.)"

Road America is not mentioned.  Is the practice day on Friday included with the races purchased or is it $145 more?

last year the friday track day was put on by STT , and was a totally separate event from the racing.. so no, i don't think it's included in any ccs entries. will double check.

this is WITHOUT QUESTION the best track anyone can ever put a bike on.. i am really gonna try to make the 24 hour drive to get there. Is it more expensive? sure.. but holy crap, what a facility.

There is not a full day of CCS practice at Road Americ, aka why it is not in list with charge for practice days. Friday will be more practice than racing but there will be racing on Friday. All practice sessions will be included with entry fee.
Races themselves will be longer distance than what had been norm, 4 laps/16 miles. We have been working on schedule with CRA and should have tentative schedule and AMA RRGC forms posted shortly.

Ok, thanks.  If there's not an extra fee for practice, that helps the expenses at least.

Debating this myself. Especially with a twin sprint at BHF 2 weeks later.

I know I'm out for the sprints as well as 3 or 4 other Ccs regulars. I might be in for the team challenge but dang just shy of double the cost for everything?

Anybody know how the registration for the AMA grand championship races work? There is no spot on the regular pre-entry form.
