Title: formula 55 class
Post by: daveducati on January 06, 2015, 06:00:44 PM
There has been some talk of a new class for us grayer racers. Maybe 55 and over.  We would obviously have to piggyback on other races.  I know there are some fast older gyys. Who is interested?

A friend of mine has been racing in a Formula 50 class on the west coast for several years.  He says it's very competitive and a lot of fun.
I'd participate since I'm getting close to Formula 60!

Yes I'd vote for a formula 50..... I'm only 40 but hey....time marches on, right?

When I turned 40 I thought the old man class would be not so competitive, Ha.
F-60 sounds good, 20 year increments.

Im racing AMA enduro and finally dist 17 has split super sr (50+) into A and B racers.  I'd like to see a formula 50 because I believe the numbers justify it.  Would be willing to throw in extra money for a small purse to make it more interresting.

Kevin says he is considering it.
My idea was to grid it with formula 40 and run both classes concurrently, maybe paying a little extra to have your finish count in both classes

I'm in. While we're at it can we make a class, or sub class, for the SVs.

Right now there's F40, MWF40, and LWF40.

I like the idea of a F50 class but now we're going to have F50, LWF50, and MWF50? It could work, just more trophies as the races would have to be run together....ie LWF50 and LWF40 together, etc....

Anyway I'm all for anything that brings more people to the track or more entries.

Yep, make it Formula 60, next thing they'll want is Formula 58.

Idea for Formula 50.

Lemans start with all riders using walkers to get to their bikes. :)

How about if I use both my canes at the same time?  I remember when Formula Forty was going to require a "pit stop" with a trip to the bathroom.  This, however, was deemed to be too much of a handicap for some of us older riders.......

You're laughing but AHRMA runs some LeMans starts....pretty funny to watch. Of course they are bump starting the bikes which makes it even more "exciting".

Yeah, I think my first bike was that Daimler with wooden frame and wheels.  Sure was a problem finding race tires for that thing......
