Title: RIP Corner Worker Bob
Post by: pops on December 29, 2014, 07:51:41 AM
The South Florida racing world lost a very special Corner Worker today.
Bob "Goofy" Hoffstetter, is now flagging for all our passed riders and racers.
Over the years, Bob flagged for CCS, PBOC,PCA,PDG,FTD,HOD and many other race groups, both cars and motorcycles.
He was "working" and doing what he loved and will be greatly missed.

Corner Worker Bob worked my races for more than 30 years. For most of those years his position was turn #1 at the old Moroso course. I can't tell you how many times he dove into the canal there to save riders who had the mis-fortune of going in, including me. He was a very sweet guy that loved racing, especially motorcycles and the people that raced them. Thanks Bob.

Bob will be missed. I had some funny conversations with him over the years. When I took my one and only foray into car racing, imagine my surprise to see him there! Made me feel much more at home that day.

He was a great guy and did alot to keep us safe. Godspeed.
