i would like to see open tires and open fuel....would make for more manufactures/sponsors at the events to have wars and start offering contingency to sway the really fast guys to run their product...
I'm not sure how I feel about the tires / fuel situation. I'm for anything that keeps costs down. But spec tire manufacturers charge the riders full price anyway, so what's the difference? spec fuel might keep the cost down a little. In fact at an AMA event, you can't use sponsorship tires, and you must purchase an allotment for use that weekend. $$$$$
Actually the racers price at the race weekend is always less than anywhere else......
i don't see spec tires ever going away.. it makes for closer racing, even if the tires are inferior than some other tire brand stuff .. in the pro race everyone is on a level playing field. And, it keeps the super fast from getting the "good tire" and everyone else getting the "ho-hum" tire. Although it makes it more costly for a rider sponsored by another tire mfgr (if they get tires or big discounts from another brand), i think it is better overall to have a spec tire for a given class.
I hope the rules package is simple, at least for a few classes (i.e. supersport) There needs to be an entry level class with intense competition. I would hope they could get some other manufacturers involved so it doesn't turn into the R6 cup. No offense to yamaha, they've built a great machine, but it would be nice to see some variety. Would probably help with sales too!
I hope they have lightweight class that says no to big Ducati's. ;)
With new Yamaha FZ-07, Ninja 650, Gladius, and Monster 696 & 796. No reason they shouldn't do it. :)
They need to pay some of the world level teams from europe to race here with there riders from there.Get Honda-Kawasaki-BMW-Aprilia-Ducati to race with factory bikes.No one wants to see the same 2 bikes 15 seconds ahead of 3rd and 4th place then another 15 to the rest of the pack.
Looks like the class structure will stay the same for 2015. They talk about adding a Moto2 style element to the 600 class, and a 1000 superstock class to run concurrently with Superbike. Kind of like EVO in world superbike and CRT bikes in MotoGP.
Tires will probably stay the same, at least for this year.

I'm just anxious to see Rainey and Company attempt to pull the series out of the ashes... it needs help, and I really feel like they're the right folks for the job... they know the sport, they have love and concern for the sport, and they've got the mullah! :biggrin:
I'm a bike enthusiast, a racer, and a racing fan, so no matter how bad things have gotten, I'm always going to watch, and support the series however I can, but I know that there are many AMA Pro Racing fans that have finally just thrown their hands up, and said "screw this!"

Also, new fans are important, especially in a country dominated by NASCAR, and DMG has done a lot of damage, hurting the existing fan base, and surely keeping a good deal of potential new fans away... the interest and revenue generated by fans new and old, is the first thing the series needs, if it's to survive at all!
Anyway :blahblah:, here's to hoping that things are gonna start looking up - I for one am very excited, I just hope the "let downs" don't keep coming! ::)
