Hi,
Wondering if it is possible to change out the master cylinder and still be legal for Supersport. Apparently, the Suzuki designers didn't consult me and my short fat fingers when they designed their brake levers / master cylinders, and I'm having trouble getting a really good squeeze + blipping the throttle for downshifts. This problem became very apparent in the rain, when my fingers would slide completely off the lever during a throttle blip.
Anyway, I'm looking at purchasing a Brembo radial master cylinder, which looks like it may give me the adjustment and lever shape I need. But, I'm not going to go spend $250 - $300 on the thing if I will be DQ'ed.
(Suggestions on cheaper alternatives to my problem are welcome as well! :) )

Is this right? Is an aftermarket brake master cylinder (still) legal for Supersport?
The rulebook implies that it is legal, in section 6.1.2.A, because it lists that the OEM wheels and brake calipers must be used, but it doesn't list the brake master cylinder. But it doesn't say explicitly.
pretty sure its legal if its the same size as stock (brembo pays cont. for SS) you could also try an aftermarket lever but on a suzuki the master cylinder is a good idea :thumb:
My issue is not the reach. Mine is that spongy-when-hot feeling...
Still waiting on some Official confirmation of legality.
If it has to be the same size as stock, does anybody know the size on an '05 GSX-R1000?

yes it's legal as several in SS run them.
Errrr ummm. I don't mean to sound like a smartass, but do you really think that just because some people run them in SS that that automatically means they're legal? It might just mean that nobody has bothered to protest them.
Anyway... if they are legal, do they have to be the same dimensions as stock, or can it be any aftermarket master cylinder?
They are legal. Many people use the Brembo radial master cylinder. Does not have to be same dimensions as stock.

brembo wouldnt pay contingency for SS if their M/C wasnt SS legal

CCS rules are different than WERA or other organizations. A lack of explicity in CCS rules leaves the opportunity open. As a result, yes, an aftermarket master cylinder is legal in CCS supersport.
There are lots of things legal in CCS supersport as a result. Read the rule book.
Correct. The rulebook doesn't say you can't swap , so therefore, you can.
