Looking for some new stands and need opinions.
Currently using Pit Bull, but like the Woodcraft stuff since there much lighter and easier for everyone (wife & kid) to handle. I am spoiled since coming from the GP bike and its light weight components but now on an SV so I need to get set up.
What do you use???
Pitbulls.
I use pit bull on the Ducati single sided swing arm, pit bull triple tree front stand, pit bull rear stand for spools, and pit bull front stand under the fork legs. I also use woodcraft triple tree stand, then some assorted cheap eBay stand, and cycle gear stands.
For the Ducati 800 it is the cycle gear pad stand on the rear(no spools on the 800) and the woodcraft on the front. The Ducati 748 I use the pit bull one sided swing arm stand and the pit bull under the fork legit front stand. This is mainly because nothing else works.
I choose to use the woodcraft triple stand over the pit bull triple stand because it is easier to use and provides a chance to adjust the height. Both are well made with the woodcraft taking the edge in ease of changing pins for use between different bikes. The woodcraft pin is an easy pull to remove and push in to replace with the new pin.
Finish on the woodcraft is powder coated and does not hold up as well as the pit bull. With that said I have had the woodcraft stand for at least 8 years if not 10 years and that is with the stand being previously used. I obtained the stand with a bike I acquired.
Pit Bull. Their front stands are height adjustable - I believe they've been for a couple years now.
You can also get the lightweight Pit Bull rear stands as well. Super light and extremely easy to use. They require little to no effort to put the bike up on. The only catch is with that, they don't lift the rear wheel off the ground as much. If you want more ground clearance, the standard stands would be preferred. They aren't much heavier and are lighter than they used to be from a few years ago.
Pit Bull offers contingency as well, which is a nice bonus.
The best thing about the woodcraft is the low effort lift that the Grandma works the stand. Just come by my pits and see for yourself.
Pitbull: offers contingency. I suspect you must finish at the front and contingency towards a discount on the next purchase.
Woodcraft: offers a rider program, apparently offers a discount on products regardless of placement within a race.

Both are good, solid companies - whichever way you choose.
Agreed Eddie
