Title: NJMP & USGPRU Sept 1st & 2nd
Post by: MAZZ77X on July 30, 2012, 05:39:51 PM
The schedule shows no Qualifing for USGPRU and Michelin Pro races and 6 lap sprints.

6 Lap sprints??? Really..... :ahhh:

Thats a 14% cut in track time.

Are entry fees going to be 14% less?  Are USGPRU Race entry fees going to be the same price as CCS Races due to the loss of Qualifing?

This will likely be the most attended CCS/USGPRU event of the season and cutting race laps is not the answer. Maybe try dropping the GT Races and increase  "Sprint Race" laps.

Hell it is a "TWIN SPRINTS" Weekend

I agree.

Jersey is not the place to be doing twin sprints.  We can barely get in a normal schedule as it is when everything runs smoothly.  I don't think cutting races by a lap is going to make much difference. Not being able to start at 8am like every other track is what screws things up.

That will make 3 out of the 6 race weekends I un this year have shortened races. Kinda sucks huh?

Can't shorten lunch ?

In CCS Flordia they dont take lunch breaks. When racing starts they dont stop till it is over. Why do you need a 1 hour lunch?

You might not, but I'm sure the corner workers dig it.

I agree on the lunch for the corner workers - but it is a rather large reduction in track time and is a huge increase in money going to CCS [twin sprints] - but as a racer I'm getting shafted...

Some tracks have it contractually, and others have mandatory quiet time (church?)

on the other side of the coin for me at least ill take the 1 lap shorter. doing 5 races with 3 in a row saturday and 6 on sunday with back to back. survived the twin sprint at summit point but left the track more then 5lbs lighter. its actually not a bad idea to do 1 lap shorter right from the start instead of running late and making the afternoon races 4-5 laps to squeeze everything in

Im with you on this as well. I do quite a few races myself and this makes it easier. reduced track time sucks but its better than running late or skipping lunch in my opinion. Lunch is my tire changing time.

Also with regards to doing 3 races in a row, is there anway to get a break between them or reschedule another race between them? Im planning to do 3 races in a row for the first time here in a little bit too and I know how hard back to back races are. I think 3 is gonna be insane. if they want to shorten those back to back races its fine by me haha

stay at the end of the riders meeting and let them know you have back to back and ask for a minute or 2 break for gas and water. ive had back to back at every round this year and usually on 2 different bikes. they give me a minute to swap bikes and fuel up if needed. as everyone at summit point twin sprint saw i had both bikes on pit lane all day both days. its hectic and a helper makes things go easier.

Sent a few e-mails and no response.

Usually CCS is good at responding to e-mails and I think Eric was on vacation so I'll give him a little more time. :thumb:

I hate twin sprints. wera is doing them also this year. it sucks money from our already tight budget as racers. it is just a way for the sanctions to get more entry fee money. there is no manufacture contingency on sat either.
