Title: Brembo HP Rotors for Super Sport
Post by: jpetroneva on July 07, 2012, 12:50:57 PM
Bike 2008 CBR1000rr.  Had a get off at VIR on Wed that ended up bending the rotor enough where I can feel it in the brake lever.  Seems as though it cheaper to put the Brembo HP rotors on then some new stock ones.  I know they are 320mm the same as stock but not sure as to thickness.  Rules state you can use aftermarket rotors as long as there the same dimensions and of a ferrous material.  Wanted to check to see if anyone has any info as to these working for super sport or not.  I have not done a race yet.  Hoping to do the VIR round in September.  Don't want to register for something that I won't pass tech for.  Thanks.

6.1.2.B Aftermarket brake rotors may be used but be the same dimension as the stock rotors and must be made of a ferrous material.
It's in the rule book.

I doubt a thicker rotor offers any competitive advantage. You'll be fine. They don't use a micrometer at tech.
