Title: New Record Set at Jennings GP
Post by: hdpromos on April 30, 2003, 05:50:43 AM
A new pre-entry record for races has been set at Jennings GP. More than 300 have been received. And when added with post entries the total will be over 500. I know that traveling to this remote northern Florida track is a long way from home for most riders. But I know you do it so that you can race on this smooth and truly well designed road course (that is for motorcycles only). I appreciate the support of both the Southeast and Florida region riders that make these races happen. I look forward to seeing all of you this weekend.

Just went to weather.com again.  Said 30% chance Saturday and Sunday this morning, now says partly cloudy and 10%, but 30% on Friday.  Changed that much in three hours...lol.  They're idiots. ;D  There's always a 30% chance of rain in Florida...what's new about that?  It was supposed to rain ALL DAY in March at Moroso and I think just the last 6 races were wet.  We'll see.

Melkman let me clarify. This is a record for Jennings pre-entry. At Homestead we get between 400 and 500 pre-entries!

You can bet the 600 grids will be packed Melk!  I hope the LTWT ones are too.  It'll be fun passing some experts! ;D

Henry,
Does entries mean:

each individual racer entered in to each race
ex: I would equal 4 entries as I entered MWSS, MWSB, MWGP and GTU
or
300 total racers are entered ?

I think it's 300 races entered which = about 15 per race average (remember some races only have 2-5 guys like singles or ltwt sportsman, etc.), but I've been known to be wrong. :)

I am 1 of the experts that was getting passed by alot of the amateurs at RA last weekend. It was very frustrating to be riding my back-up bike ('99 GSXR 600) in the heavyweight and unlimited classes because of a couple parts for my '02 GSXR 750 still being on back order. Not only was I riding a 4 year old under powered machine, but I am way too heavy to be riding a 600 competitively (230 lbs). Riding a 100 HP bike against 160 HP bikes at a top speed track such as RA just isn't very fun. Anyways, I was there for the long haul (season points) and not to think I could actually be competetive there.  :-/

I think you'll be fine down here if you come.  Tight track.  Melka's on a 6 too.  I just like catching Experts cuz my bike is faster and they complain.  I think that's funny to hear an expert complain about an AM. ;D

;Djust thought i'd poke a few words in, the fyn sawyers are making it to jennings, my husband has some bruised ribs and pulled neck muscles, but says he wants the twins championship pretty bad so look out for the old fat guy on the 89 duc.  Anyway hows the track for 125's ok?

Awwesome track for 125's!  I think the track record is currently held by a 250.  AM or EX Duc, and what kind?  Look me up when you get there! :)  AM #944...red Ducati with 916 bodywork.

;)He  rides a 996, he usually does pretty well but in the unl gp at vir  the was a small crash in three that destroyed his 750 superbike so he'll ride the duc all weekend, i think he's currently 3rd in the southeast region, but got to go for an hour or so, but we'll leave in the morning and get down there tommorrow evening to set up, we'll be sure to look you up, see ya in the sunshine state!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chuck Sorensen on a 250gp bike has the track record at 1:15.somthing.. it was first held by another 250 rider, then a couple 1000gsxr pros, then a 250 again. seems the small light powerfull bike or the big VERY powerful bike is the fastest.. but the track is not a "point-shoot" track, thats why sv650s and 600cc bikes like mine are still VERY competitive against big bikes. .. I was running 3rd, then 2nd in the HEAVY wt class last month when i ran into the guy in turn 13 going for the lead on my f4 600cc.  Gonna try again this sunday.. but without the crashin part...
