How is every one mounting there new transponder?

Velcro plus zip tie on the right fork.  Make sure the fork can turn all the way in both directions without interference and it helps if you can see the LED from the rider seat.  The LED is on the top of the unit BTW.

Per the enclosed directions and between the triples with 3M sticky tape and a ziptie.  If you mount it up side down it may not work correctly, the lights have to be on the top, not only so you can see them when it is active, but also so that the sensors are pointing down at the ground/track so that the wire in the track can receive the signal.

I have the old skool SpongeBob shaped transponder that CCS used to hand out last year.  Because of it's large size, I've been putting mine in the rear of my Duc 848 because it's just too tight up front on the forks.  It would obstruct the steering.

It might be possible to put in between the triples, but what I wanted to do is mount it inside my lower fairing, in line with where the forks are.  The flashing light will still be visible.

Does anyone know if this would be acceptable to tech?  Will it still be picked up through fiberglass fairings, mounted vertically?

Another question:  Suppose I kept the transponder in the rear.  In a close finish, my front wheel comes across the finish line first, but the other rider's transponder comes across the finish line antenna first and mine, in the rear, comes across second.  The timing/scoring system registers the other rider as the winner.

Is this result protestable because of transponder position?

Just a hypothetical.  I plan on moving my transponder, but was just curious of the machinations CCS timing and scoring administration.

From what I understand, its required to be mounted on the right front fork.

When I said "between the triples" what I meant is; between the upper and lower triple clamps on the outside of the "right" fork leg, as per the directions that come included with the transponder.

The directions say that you can't place it above "solid metal" and "carbon fiber" because they will block the signal.

Lonestar- just a guess that in the situation you described you would probably lose since you weren't following the rules and mounting the transponder in the desired location. Just like if I don't mount my transponder I am automatically DQ. I know by first hand account.

My new transponder is mounted using the old pouch and it has worked on all three of my bikes. i have mounted them on the right fork leg below the top triple and it has been ok. The only difficulty I have had is that it is not a quick change from one bike to another due to location. the pouch is a little easier, the location because of access is the problem.

I thought the old yellow transponders had to be mounted horizontal in order to work? (with the channel facing down)

That was optimal. Some had them sideways on the swingarms.
