Title: Dunlop Contingency
Post by: kozikracing on April 22, 2012, 12:57:11 PM
Does anyone know how long it usually takes after an event to receive Dunlop contingency?  I already received my contingencies from Heartland Park race weekend from several other sponsors; still waiting on Dunlop.  Thanks.

IIRC, usually a few weeks but up to a month. They process the checks pretty quick. I think the delay is with CCS sending them the results.

I've been waiting since February Homestead round.  I'm starting to think they won't pay out.

It is taking slightly longer than normal to process contingency than with old scoring program which I had a program that pulled info in and manual processing was much less. Until I have similar process in place rather than reports going out week of event it is taking me ~ week and a half.

All reports go out together and if it has been more than 45 days send me this form. http://www.ccsracing.us/forms/2009/contingency/contingency%20status%20form.pdf (http://www.ccsracing.us/forms/2009/contingency/contingency%20status%20form.pdf)
If you are wondering about Suzuki or Yamaha I need it no more than 20 days after the event; Both must be reported within 30 days of event so any errors must be checked quickly.

There is a link under Contingency on the CCS website, to Dunlop website, then you click on the CCS contingency info:  Here is the link:

Arnold it is 2nd on our list of things not event related to get done. First is to get overall points sorted with software programmer so they can be posted.

Nothing for me yet; might have to be Michelin's at Homestead.

Lee I am not seeing a request form from you when I got back to the office. I will look into it.

FYI for all contingency is a form of advertising and those sponsors that offer contingency pay it based on getting a level of visilibilty and recognition that comes from 2 sources, 1 is the products being on your bike with decals that represent them. The second is in the race results that are published showing a rider used their product(ie listed in the riders personal sponsor listing)

I gave up on contingency in 2008. I won an expert national championship (Daytona) and got $75 from Pirelli. Whoop de do.

90% of the time the grids are too small or some other technicality. I don't think I'm leaving much on the table.....

Screw Dunlop!!! :finger: ......15 race wins and no contingency, I'm going back to Pirelli!!

You never should have left Pirelli.  A hundred bucks less per set is basically like getting contingency every set you buy.....

yet another reason to try the Michelin tires Gino.. there isn't that much tire contg. out there to worry about. Try em! All the guys saying they need to run dunlops at club races because they run or might run AMA races is silly.. Run the best tire you can at club events, run the spec tire when you HAVE to. Most that switch back and forth (and i know of one fast guy that does) says no set up changes required other than a minor front ride height change. You saw all the Dunlop tires being sold at Homestead.. they won't miss a couple guys switching, and you will help keep Frank Kinsey heathly and fit changing some more tires .. :)

This is directed to Eric and CCS Staff.  We greatly appreciate everything you guys do for us and realize how busy you are, especially with simultaneous races going on in different regions and having to adjust to a new scoring system.  However, we ask that you PLEASE keep in mind that many of us rely on contingencies in order to be able to race the NEXT event.  It's especially difficult when you are 1st in points in all your classes and can't miss a race weekend, yet haven't received contingency from the last two events.  Thanks for your efforts!  :thumb:

I am sorry i have fallen behind but should be caught up by the end of the week. Getting points sorted requered verfying results sheets and being sure those werere all correct and matched final official results posted at events. Thsi caused a log jam for me getting contignency promptly sent to the various contignecy sponsors. Now it is a priority to get fully caught up and get reports out same week as evetn as had been the norm for last several years.

They are light; make the dunnies feel like boat anchors.
