Someone hit me HARD just before turn 3 at Heartland Park yesterday (Saturday). On the WARM UP LAP for the MWSS someone tried passing me on the outside before turn 3 slamming into my right bar. I crashed BAD.
Ground through the left forearm and knee of my suit, ground a decent size spot on my helmet, wore through a outside of my right glove. WARMUP LAP.
Bike is TRASHED. The only bodywork that isnt broken is the front fender. Tank is dented. Front rim is bent. Both bars are bent. Remote brake lever adjustment hardware destroyed. Shift linkage bent and broken. WARMUP LAP.
Badly broken collar bone. FROM A PASS ON A WARMUP LAP!
LET ME REMIND YOU THAT IT WAS THE WARM UP LAP!!! Why were you in such a hurry that you CARELESSLY SLAMMED INTO ME?!
All I want from 'you' is an apology for making a dangerous and careless mistake. You deserve some officially sanctioned punishment. Here are some excerpts from some other organizations rule books...

I was the one who hit you. I fully intended to find you and apologize, but the following events hindered that. I ran out of gas on the cool-down lap and had to push my bike in. First thing I did when the crash truck came was ask for the bike # of the guy who I caused to go down in turn 3. Very next race they were tearing down the top 3 finishers to see airbox so I got held up again. I also asked officials where you were pitted so I could find you, but you must have left before the last race (about the time I got my bike approved at post-tech). Next morning first thing I walked down toward the section of garages where I was told you were parked outside, but still didn't see you.
Any way I am sorry. It is clear you are very upset and I do truely feel bad.

CCS officials thought I wanted to fight who ever it was, but all I was hoping for was an apology. I insisted that I wait at pit out hoping that 'you' would see me and stop and say something... but no one stopped. And that made me really mad. I spent about 4 hours in the ER and then we went back to the track to pick up the trailer and head home, no need to pay for a hotel just to drive hom in the morning.
Im going to see a doctor tomorrow about surgery, and I am heading to work in about an hour to make sure I will still have a job when Im all healed up.
Mistakes happen, and riding on a race track is dangerous, but thank you for stepping up and saying something. It really does mean a lot to me.
I was in that race. ouch. I got one of those type of clavicals. Grew back with a big old bump. BTW you left a long ars streak in the pavement there. Heal Quickly!

Its my second break, you can see where the lump was from the first one. Its surgery this time for sure, I cant have an 'M' shaped clavical!!!
I was also ran off the track on a warm-up lap, but luckly did not crash. I forget which race it was. I was following one of the Kawi 250 Ninja's that were out there, the white plate guy. I was behind and to the right of the person. The short "straight" before turn three. The Kawi guy was going straight, but suddenly turns to the right and goes back to where he was. Forcing myself to either hit him or go into the grass/dirt. Luckly we weren't going very fast and I was able to get right back on the track. I yelled at the guy in my helmet "What the fuck was that!?!" :wtf:
But then my dumbass went wide into turn 8 trying to pass both of them and ended up in the grass... On the warm up lap. :banghead: But at least I didn't run anyone off the track... :biggrin:
you need one of these, they're lightweight and don't set off the metal detectors at the airport :biggrin:

Blade, mines going to go a little less smoothly because they are going to have to bend the plate around where it healed 3 years ago... Doctor is just worried about me breaking it again and having a shoulder full of loose screws.
Meh - a shoulder full of loose screws would only match the head full of loose screws and the pits full of loose nuts. Face it, we are all a bit nuts to grid up in the first place.

George, I rode to the airport with your buddy Steve Wilkins. Great guy and hard as nails. He did the endurance solo [something I'm not man enough to even attempt]
