Title: Exhaust Decibels
Post by: pdoughduc on March 21, 2012, 12:19:53 PM
Anyone ever gotten called out/flagged down/not allowed on track/run out of town/etc. for excessive exhaust noise? If so, which track/when??

A fellow racer was interested in trying to map a basically open exhaust vs. canned. I've only heard it run once can-less - let's just say MotoGP Bike's level and quality noises from the 3 into 1 into 2 into 3 (GPR Brand). Loud but tremendously awesome. They CAN'T care in West by God Virginia... can they??

When Jennings GP was North Florida Motorsports Park, I saw 2 Ducati's not allowed to participate with us, NFVRA  because of excessive DB's, strict there.
I was not allowed on the track at Daytona because the packing had blown out. Went back to garage and installed a big paper bag, pushed bike back to tech, started it in front of them and they said go, lasted to the end of pit road.

A friend is building another old CB-750 for ARHMA stuff, he's considering a high dollar custom almost open exhaust but db are way above 120, he wants to run it at Jennings which is 104 db now, I think Daytona is 115 or so?
