Is there any Friday practice for CMP? I checked their schedule and did not see any practice like there was for Roebling...
I think I found my answer. Corner speed.

Yep! Aaron is good peoples.
I heard Aaron once caught a kitten crossing the track in his arms at VIR while turning a 1:34!
... well he is good peoples.
Anybody know when the gates open on Thursday?
The track said 5pm. I just called them.

That is
WRONG. Gates won't open Thursday at all. Friday morning at 6:30am. See the CCS website front page (http://www.ccsracing.us/)for more info.
Wow - that sucks.
Who's hosting the parking log BBQ tomorrow night?
In all seriousness, is the CMP parking lot good to camp in? I'm in a van with two guys, so we would have to unload two bikes into the parking lot, and pitch a tent. Is that do-able?
I doubt they'd let you pitch a tent on the road leading to the track. (It's just a road .. not much room for more than vehicles.)
If I were you, I'd either get a motel or leave very early on Friday morning .. unless you can all sleep in your van LOL

Yeah, I called CMP and they told me 5:30p on Thursday and even gave me camping prices too.
I have the same situation as you. Two bikes in a cargo van which I sleep in.
Thankfully I should be getting there reasonably early [11 hour drive starting at 7am] so I can head to the track, see if they'll let us in, and if not, plenty of time to drive to the local side of the highway ditch motel.
I should land at about 5 to 5:30pm. If I remember, I'll post up here what I find out.
I just hung up with the track and this issue is over cornerspeed backing out of a $165 total camping fee. I told the track that if it comes to it, I will cover the cost out of my own pocket if that is the only thing preventing camping from happening. They were really nice and said they would collect a few dollars from each racer and I offered to cover any shortfall.
Cornerspeed, REALLY OVER $165.
CCS, just a bit disappointing that you would force Atlantic guys to make that 14 hour trip and couldn't help us just a bit.
Everyone, you can camp after 5pm.
Dude you rule! Let me know where you are pitted and I will be bringing beers to your site.
Oh and ccs officials and corner speed aren't welcome :ass:
I won't take any cash but beers are welcome. I am in the last open garage. You guys can pay me back by not parking right across, lol
I've got some magic hat with your name on it! [and the wife packed some chocolate chip cookie bars to go with it too!]
Looks like there is a low turnout this weekend so that's why it isn't economically viable to pay for camping on Thursday. I guess racers don't like this track?

This track is great but it never ever has a good turnout, that is why Atlantic has to go and why they have to make it double sprints and rarely does expert contingency get paid out due to small grids. I fought with Kevin when the schedule came out that making Atlantic guys go down there who want to run the full series only get a handful of guys dumb (like me) enough to make the trip and then the rest of the races suffer because championship dreams fade after this weekend so many turn into fair weather racers.
If a track can't sustain enough riders to have an event run proper, take it off the schedule. Don't punish your loyal customers by cramming it down their throats and making them travel 14 hours for a race in their region.
cmp is fun! kinda wish i was racing there this weekend but only doing FL region stuff this season (and 15 harescrambles..lol!)
A & J Recognition has arranged with the track for entry to the paddock starting at 5 o'clock tonite (Thursday) and continuing all night.
We'll begin selling armbands @ $35 (cash only) as soon as we're set-up & ready this afternoon, and have made arrangements for this to be done all night too. The track will collect their normal fees for camping and electricity separately.
We hope this helps everyone. We'll see you there!
Thanks Jeanne!
