Post by: quillman373 on March 02, 2012, 08:10:23 PM
Does anyone know what gearing i should run on my 2007 gsxr 600 at RA?  Have never run it there and need to get sprockets, let me know if you could thanks.

Stock gearing is in the ball park - but it really depends if your normally 'back of the pack' or a 'front runner', how much you weigh, if your bike is stock or heavily modified, and for that matter if you've ever raced at Road America before. Provide that extra info and you will probably get a more accurate suggestion.  :thumb:

On a 07 GSXR600 you may find yourself as much as 2 teeth bigger than stock on the rear. Catches alot of guys out and don't expect a vendor to have what you need at the track. bring a chain breaker extra master links and a spare chain is never a bad idea. Have it in advance or be robbed of a win when you get drafted at the line!

Thanks guys, I've raced at Road America 3 times and i would say I'm pretty quick, would say front of middle pack tail end of front pack.  Motor has a fresh supersport build so about 120 hp.  Just need a ball park on what spares to get, i currently have black hawk gearing on it now and i know that wont work.   thanks.

I drop two on the rear for Road Atlanta.  You will not get the drive out of the turns like with stock however you can obtain 185 mph on that 7th gear down hill ;)
