Last Midwest round, they had a sign at pit in that reminded people to report to tech for Super Sport. THANKS!
Since tech isn't required every time, this polite reminder when you have 1000 other things on your mind is greatly appreciated.
You're welcome. I wouldn't want you to get DQ'd or anything (yeah, I know). :kicknuts:
Seemed like you were having a rough enough day on your own.
It happens.
I blame no one for my DQ. I never had an oem air filter, so I never measured it. I was told the K&N's were OEM spec. Poo poo on me for believing that. But it's my responsibility to make sure I'm within the rules.
I stretched out and lost a chain. Thought that I had seized the motor or transmission. Turns out the chain coming off broke a shift a shaft. Which we didn't find until after I crashed the backup bike on the out lap. I think I know why I crashed, but we'll call it a cold tire issue ::)
Came back and moved the shift shaft that was good to the original bike. Went out and lost the shock reservoir some how. Plugged the shock fluid line so I could start and get a few points, only to find out I was unknowingly a cheater :banghead:
A season's worth of mechanical problems in 2 hours. I know the last round will go better! I've had much much worse days at the track.
That sounds almost to painfully comic to be believable - the K&N ones aren't stock sized but the BMC Race ones are if you want an aftermarket Greg...otherwise I think I have a stock one in the garage if you need to compare hole sizes - let me know
Hey Greg, if nothing else, you can always drag out the Barbie/Big Gay Al bike for a lap or 3.

BMC makes 2 filters one is the stock replacement the other is modified similar to the K&N, imbeleive the stock replacement is called "street" and the modded is called "race"
Doesn't K&N make 2 filters for SV's also - 1 Supersport legal and 1 that isn't?
Pretty sure the K&N one only comes in the GAPING hole variety - the BMC ones come in several flavors lol - they make a ss legal "Race" version (I have one) as well
