Title: My wife's finally catching on...
Post by: dylanfan53 on March 06, 2011, 10:26:17 PM
So she asks, "What else would the bike need?"
Me: "Nuthin' really, just the suspension setup for me."
Her: "Meaning set up or new parts?"
Me: "Umm... (thinking since when does she pay attention to this stuff?) maybe just a respring."
Her: "A new spring around a new Ohlins shock or just the coil??"
Me: "Jeeeeezzz....since when do you know suspensions?"
Her: "What about the front end?"
Me: "Whaa?"
Her: "Who do you think answers the door every time the UPS guy brings those boxes?"
Me: "mumble, mumble...don't worry I know what I'm doing...mumble, mumble..."
Her: "Well, you might was well do it.  You're going to anyway."
Me: "How do you know?"
Her "You're pacing."

Yep, looks like she's finally figured it all out.  It was good while it lasted.   :banghead:

Is this a good thing?

At least she doesn't ride/race also.
Every time I get something for my bike, she is standing there waiting for the same done to hers.
Its just to expensive.

rothlmao.  Here I have been trying to educate my wife about my hobby.  Maybe that isn't the best idea in the end.  Well as the poster above says, at least she doesn't ride.  Generally if I can figure out how to make an upgrade fall into the catagory of maintenenace or safety, I am pretty much golden.

You mean you don't know X? He lives in your same community (da falls) funny small world.

Mine also figured out it will happen anyway, stop fighting. BUT I have most stuff shipped to my work so she is only kinda in the know.

Sure I know X.  I met him a couple of times down a BHF.  Anyway I was just trying to say I sympathize with having to buy upgrades for 2 riders and glad that isn't something I have to worry about.

Yep.  Feeling kinda weird now. There's a lonely empty feeling inside and I find myself listening to sad county music about ex-lovers and broken hearts.  Is that normal?

I told my wife I'd stop racing @ 50.  I'm 49 now so i may be 50 for a few years.  As long as i keep improving/getting faster, I'll keep doing this unless I get hurt.  Last year was a little over the top with 13 races weekends - 8 CMRA big bike endurance and the rest CCS MW.  Could have bought complete new furniture sets, TVs, healthclub memberships etc...

Why, your hand-me-down furniture from the apartment should be just getting broke-in by now...
