I've read the rule book and am confused. Ive searched and still confused. Can someone just give me a list of what needs to be safety wired? Just trying to get a definite list to ensure I have everything. I appreciate the help. :thumb:
I'll take a stab at this
Required:
Oil Fill plug
Oil Drain plug
Engine coolant drain plug
Oil filter (use a circular clamp on the spin on filter and wire it to a bolt)
Although this is taken from the 2010 Rulebook I would be very surprised if there is any change:

5.2.16 All engine, transmission, and final drive unit drain plugs and filler caps
must be visibly safety wired. Oil filter bolts must be secured with safety
wire and spin-on oil filters must be secured with a metal clamp and
safety wire or other acceptable means. Fuel and radiator caps are
exempt. On all machines, enough body work must be removed
before coming to tech inspection so the Inspector can see them.
Should have hi-lighted this part..........

#1 on the list for getting off on the wrong foot with the Tech Inspector.

One option (if it works on your bike/bodywork) would be to leave the bellypan attached with just one screw or pin on one side. That way you can easily drop down the side so that everything can be seen. Duc's and Hondas seem to be best on the right side - Kaw's, Suzuki and Yamaha on the left. Aprilia's, Triumph's, BMW's, etc.... you have your own issues!
Alright thanks every one correct me if im wrong here this is my list
Oil drain
Water Drain
Oil fill
Oil Filter
Water Lines on the Radiator???
Lines on the oil cooler???
Take belly pan off before coming to tech ...
Anything else?

They just need to have some type of securing clamps on the ends of those hoses (like radiator clamps). :thumb:
Sounds like wera has a lot more to.wire is this true?
Yes. WERA requires a lot more stuff to be wired.
Example;
Header stud nuts
Caliper bolts
Oil galley plugs and banjo bolts (I think)
ect...
I could be wrong, it's been a while since I ran with those guys but, I believe all of the coolant component bolts, ie; water pump, thermostat housing, water bosses and the radiator cap get wired as well along with some other stuff.
Also; if you have the spring type clamps on your hoses, they need to be wired in such a way that they don't open up.
Your best bet is to replace all of them with the worm gear type hose clamp.
