Title: Online Registration
Post by: FUBAR606 on April 19, 2003, 11:48:48 AM
Kudos to CCS for finally providing online registration :D

But I am curious as to why it does not include all tracks, for example. Roebling Road and Barber.  ??? I am by no means an HTML expert, but from what I do know I would think it shouldn't take any more configuring than adding the track name(s) to the drop down list to make it more complete. When will this be done?

Aside from the issue above, it looks great...and THANKS for the effort thus far!!  ;)

Funny thing, I just came to the board to talk about this, as I just nothiced that online registration.

I was woundering if there was a dead line to use this form before an event?...
Such as RA is next weekend and I hear Registration is a Zoo on Friday morning!
Would it be wise to try the online registration?

Registration for online entry is the same as a faxed or mailed entry.  All entries must be in our office 2 weeks before an event.

I have not seen this page, but does it allow you to select the event if it is past the two week deadline?

Anyone besides me just a wee bit nervous about using the online sign-up thing?

Get a room...lol. :D

By the way...can anybody tell me how the ROC works as far as registration?  I have missed 3 rounds now, and it sure isn't looking like there's a championship in my reach at the current moment, so how do I get in and how far back am I gonna start?  TIA

Grid for ROC is based on class finish in your region. All regional first places are in front (typically front 2 rows), etc. Then those outside of the top ten  ??? ??? are gridded based on registration order.

But this is really a totally mute point considering you can't even think about registering for ROC until the end of the season. You may want to focus on attending a few regional events first. ::)

Let me quess, you also already have your application for your AMA license too?  ;D

It's not that "technical" of a form. Pretty basic really.

Although I did not try it, I'd be willing to bet that it will allow you to sign up for races at a track on dates that there are no races even scheduled at that track.

I almost get the impression someone was in a rush to get this implemented. I can only hope some modifications will be made to make it more efficient. But for the mean time, I'd settle for all tracks to be listed as a choice. I can figure out for myself if I am within 2 weeks of an event.

I am a wee bit nervous about it!  Does this online sign-up thing give you a confirmation screen after you submit the form?  It would be nice to have a confirmation screen that you can print and take along to the track as proof, just in case the system has a little hiccup!

I also have visions of driving 4 hours to Summit Point, and being told "..I'm sorry sir, but we don't have a pre-reg for you!!"

...Remember, we're talking about an organization that sometimes doesn't even have the new year's licenses out until AFTER the first or second event has been run!

Smart ass.  By the way, we have another race after that down here, but I imagine that it is based on our current standings at that time.  I also owned an AMA National number in dirt track when I was little, so yes...I plan on getting back to the AMA and racing again.  Anyways...I was just wondering if I had already missed the entry start date and didn't want to start dead last up there, but I'm sure you read my mind and already knew that.  Also...I've gone to the first two Florida Region races (not counting Daytona...since I'm in such a rush to get to the AMA I decided to skip it due to inexperience the first time by the way) and only missed the 3rd at Jennings due to mechanical reasons...but again, you already knew that since you knew I had already applied for my AMA Superbike license.  Get a clue before you try to make a smart a s s remark my way and at least have the courtesy to know who you are cheap shotting and why they asked their question next time. ::)

ROC is based on regional class standings for ALL pre entered riders (I got to do that last year for the Am so I know for a fact that is the way it is done) then by registration date if you have no points in the class you are entering at ROC. Then if there is still room left on the grid post entries are accepted and are gridded in order of registration behind those that pre entered regardless if they had points or not.
Entry for ROC opens normally in Aug ust with a cutoff date of around Sept 1 for points for ROC points standings for grid

That's kinda what I figured.  Didn't mean to snap at FUBAR, but that was a legitimate question, I thought.  I do plan to be competitive there.  I hope anyways. :)  Thanks Eric! ;)

Sure looked to me like you were focused on the Race of Champions. And usually when someone is fixated on an horizon, they overlook the steps to be taken to reach it.

Besides, I don't need to know who you are before I shoot my mouth off. I'm a smart a s s to anyone...I don't play favorites.

Good luck in the AMA!!

Ahem, well, yes - that's all very nice, but returning to our original thread...

I like the online reg form - way to go!!  It would be nice if CCS were to send some sort of registration confirmation regardless of how we register - just so we know we're good to go.

Nice job.

I like the commercial where the stork is walking around the office and people are jumping out if the way.  :D Too funny. I think the stork hangs out at WTMJ channel 4 here in Milwaukee and then commutes down to the Weather Channel. So many pregnant ladies on TV. Weird I tell ya.

Yeah, I've heard about those "baby germs".  We talk about the baby thing a lot (he's 33 so his clock is one of those that when it chimes dust comes out), but sitting on our dock at our lake fishing and sipping his awesome 99% alcohol margaritas yesterday was enough to persuade me to wait on kids for a while...say, 20 years or so...or whenever the margarita machine breaks.

P.S.--Thanks, Dawn, it's good to be back!

Yup!  I warned the wife.  She kept saying, "Baby...   Baby..."  I said, "Yeah, that's cute, but we are going to wait, right?"  She says yeah and all, but keeps doing it.  Two boys later...were done.

But, they are fun.  Would I do it differently?  Who knows?  You work with the cards you get...

Back to registration...

I got an e-mail back after I sent my race entry in... Had confirmation numbers on it.
