Yes, we are combining the canceled Heartland and the final BHF race. We will
still run the new one day race schedule and pay double Great Plains and
double Mid West points. Also if you're posting this, please mention the BHF
practice day on Saturday and contacting BHF for pre-entry to the practice.

That's awesome......I will say this, there are alot of local racers who are talking about coming out and racing that weekend that are out of the points, just to come out and support CCS/BHF,if you are MW or GP and in the points I would highly consider pre-registering.

WOOT WOOT
Word of advice for anyone entering GTU, MW Supersport or MW Superbike - PRE-ENTER!!
Those were the biggest grids last weekend and with the addition of the GP Region stand to possibly fill up.
Not saying you'll get shut out by registering late because the Grid is full - but those classes have the greatest likelyhood.
Last weekend we had 24 on the Grid sheet for EX/AM combined GTU, 30 for EX/AM combined MW Supersport and 27 for EX/AM combined MW Superbike.
When we were running the 2 day schedule each of these races were separated - EX and AM. With the new 1 day schedule they are combined. Not sure, but I think the maximum track density for Blackhawk is around 40 bikes per race.
This is now a double points weekend for both Midwest and Great Plains regions.
Why take a chance and get told that they can't accept any more entries because the race is full! :thumb:
Yeah, this is real possible,I sent reg; and check today and I've not pre-registered all year, there's already momentum here, and some friends I talked to comming from GP,this could really start to roll with enthusiasm. We're also working on festivities to be announced later that will make the social end it this thing a blast.
This additional or unscheduled race for the GP region may not be a good thing for GP Riders.
1. With double points GP riders may loose there GP championships to MW riders simply because they cannot attend this unscheduled race.
2. Many GP racers made vacation plans for the September 5-6 weekend. Arranging vacation time for the unscheduled race may not be possible.
So....... if I was pre-registered for HPT races and practice I'm now pre-registered for Blackhawk races, but not practice? Never been to Blackhawk, someone please help me out here do they handle practice fees seperate from race fees like MCRA does for GIR?
have you called CCS as directed?

Ok- I had planned to go to VIR and race with friend... but now if I want any shot at the GP points:
I'm supposed to drive 9 hours to a track I've never been to. I'm going to race folks who are dialed in for the track over 3 race weekends this year. Hell I don't even have any idea what gearing to bring for my SV. You guys better have a cold beer ready.
Since the HPT event was a combined MW/GP event, does combining for BHF really mess with GP points? I can see the double points maybe, but this way your season is still the same number of races... the biggest differences being that the HPT folks have to travel, and most of the BHF regulars wouldn't have gone to HPT?
Anyway, I'm bummed for you guys in the GP region, I can't really say if I'd be happy or not if I were in the fight for a championship in the GP region, and suddenly had to change all my plans... but I can definitely say that the BHF crowd is super welcoming and fun, and they'll do what they can to help the GP riders out.
Jen,
I believe double points have traditionally been awarded at the last race weekend for each Region. Originally the September HPT date was to be a double points weekend for GP and single points for the MW Region.
I do agree that some in the GP may be upset that due to an unforeseen schedule change to a new venue on a different date may now determine Championships.
As it now stands, the GP Region will consist of 6 race weekends - 2 at HPT, 2 at Gateway, 1 at Road America and 1 at Blackhawk. Four of these will have been combined events with the MW (1 each at HPT, Gateway, Road America and now Blackhawk).
The MW season will consist of 7 race weekends - 4 at Blackhawk and 1 each at Road America, HPT and Gateway.
Hopefully the bottom line will come down to the Regional Championships being won by those who were able to attend all the race weekends for their Region.
I'm still bummed that the Memorial Day weekend race at HPT disappeared from the schedule. I took a weeks worth of vacation around that event so my kids could attend and a few other family members. Oh well. It is cool that we get a finale to our season just stinks it came about the way it did. Will be a little rough only getting 20 minutes of track time before my first race but that adds to the excitement. The idea of a new track is welcomed by me since running basically 2 tracks, not counting RA, gets old. Just have to remember that as badlt as I want to win a championship the drive home will be damn hard if I eat it and break something trying to go faster than comfortable at a new place. Can't wait as this will probably be my final race since the ex is raking me over the coals for child support. On the podium or on the ground!
I'm thinking I should start racing again but not in the MW region. Too much b.s. going on there :P :P
Instead maybe for the last round I'll race for the GP region.
CCS needs more racers at the track right?
hmmm........
decisions decisions
lol

Rob... I think you should do up some BBQ ribs!!!!!
I'm all signed up n ready to go. Can't wait...
I have a couple of Q's;
1- how long does it take to get there from StL, (driving the speed limit)?
2- What is the track like?
ie. How long is it?, Any elevation changes?, Is it flowing or point n shoot? ect...
3- Is there a town near by to get supplies?
Any thing else I need to know?
Thanks.
Oh, and one last thing;
Will there be a "certain somebody" there that might want to throw me a BS meatball flag???

1- from stl. it should take about 5 hrs.
2- the track is 1.8 miles long ...short, flat and point and shoot
3- beloit is about a mile from the track.
bring bug spray!
How's the camping/shower situation?
brand new bathrooms with free showers sponsored by kohler (i think). nice!
camping available pretty much anywhere, its feels very much like a state park with trees everywhere.
Noid, I have a conflict on Saturday that will tie me up till about 8pm Saturday.
I wasn't planning on going for Sunday, but now that I know you're going to be there I might just drive all night to harass you! :kicknuts:
Looked around for a recent video, and this was all I could find (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Zu6dUv6Biw&feature=related). Hopefully it helps somebody.
If you've only ever been to HPT and Road America, BHF is a bit more "rustic". I do have to say the showers are better than HPT though... at least on the lady's side. Great track for spectators as most of the track is easily accessible. Garage space is limited/non-existant. If you camp, it can get pretty cold at the end of September. Fire wood can be found in the woods, or at some of the gas stations in town.
And bring bug spray.
Soo.....I should bring bug spray?

Ron that's all I keep hearing from these guys is bring bug spray and beer....
BHF is surrounded by wetlands, and is wooded. The mosquitoes are usually pretty bad early morning/dusk/evening. Then during the day there are biting midges (no-see-ums). If it's cold, you'll be fine but if it's still warm out, it can be misery.
HPT has thunderstorms and tornadoes, we have itchy insects.

You guys sound like a nice crowd but, with a lil WERA flair. He He... :lmao:
Oops, did I say that out loud? Uh Oh, so much for "nice"...
Awesome....looking forward to seeing everyone. You should be able to pull all kinds of video I would Imagine,we'll be heppy to sit around the campfire a share little secrets of the track,I'd be happy to do a track walk with anyone Saturday Morning,I'll be there Friday from 4 pm on of someone wants a track walk too.Best, quickest tip I can give it's mostly late apex every turn.If you get into the habit of turning in too early there, outside of the track comes up awefully quick, and needless to say you blow your drive out.Bus stop in particular, the first right hander you want to hit late.

John I'd love to take a track walk Friday evening!
i was under the impression that BFR was 1.95mi long, and i would say its technical not point and shoot.
Hey Mikey,we missed you last round.....yup 1.95 mi, and I would say technical,of coarse,Robbie's riding style is point and shoot at every track........... :thumb:

nooo... it's pretty much point and shoot. if you can look where you need to go, you can be pretty fast. just don't go wider than need be around 6 or 7.
