Title: More War?
Post by: Super Dave on April 17, 2003, 02:57:43 AM
Now that the worst has past....

Now that the evidence of the horrible acts that were done to the Iraqi people are coming to light...

I want those who believed that those who felt that the action in Iraq was wrong to justify to me why we shouldn't have done it.

I left questions on some threads, but didn't seem to get any answers even though I poured my heart out when questions were posed to me.

Interesting...

A Failed Plan?

1. We took Iraq in less time than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch
Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.

2. It took less time to find evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq than
it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law
Firm billing records.

3. It took Teddy Kennedy longer to call the police after his Oldsmobile
sunk at Chappaquiddick than it took the
3rd Infantry Division and the  Marines to destroy the Medina Republican
Guard.

4. We took Iraq in less time than it took to count the votes  in Florida
in the year 2000!

And some have called the Iraq effort a failed plan?

Knowledge is facts. Understanding is making sense of facts. Wisdom is
using knowledge & understanding for
good.

Since my view was different than the usual anti-war stuff...

Please gloat in front of me 10 years from now.

The war may be over, it may have been easier than thought, you can't judge the outcome until the future of Iraq, US and us have come to past. My concerns were the lasting impact of our actions may have caused, or will cause, so please, repeat that question 10 years from now and we can discuss it was for the better or worse.

Indeed, I agree.  However, are the Iraqi people better without a butcher looming over them?  Are we not better by not having a butcher in control of a country?

I am not gloating.  I could do that.  But the facts are that North Korea has backed down, we have found terrorist camps in Iraq, and the problems that were expected in Iraq have not materialized.  They may, but it is interesting that the eyes of the Arab world are on Iraq.

The reality is that a country that might be able to govern itself as a republic is an oddity in the Middle East.

It took the United States, what, eleven years after declaring its independance to develop the Constitution.

And the reality is that we will find more examples of how awful Hussein's regime was to humanity.  Something should have been done before this.  Agree or disagree?

Nothing comes without risk.  You race motorcycles afterall...right?

QuoteI like it when we kick ass!

Me too!

As a woman, I am expected to be a loving, nurturing, caring soul that wouldn't hurt a flea.  Some see that America should be like that also.  But darn it, that gets old after a while!

Don't mess with me or you may get hurt!  (I tell that to Paul sometimes and he just laughs at me.   :-/ ;D)

Is what our government did to the Indians any different?

Should another country have invaded to US and put in another form of government?

Yep!  No argument here, we handled the Native Americans with ignorance.  Slavery the same thing.

However, today's technology has allowed a sick person, ruler, head of state, dictator, to kill people by the thousands in a matter of seconds.  With this power comes responsibility, not only from us, but the entire world.  The world negotiated with Hitler, but how many thousands of Jews died because the world decided to act too late.  Some times tough choices need to be made.

In my opinion, we did the right thing.  Fortunately we live in a country where a person is free to speak their mind.

Native Americans?  Boy, I don't even think we need to go much further there.  It was terrible.  And it was for the land.

As for the second statement, should a government be allowed by the world to kill, imprison, and torture it's people?  Probably an easy answer of no.  Are we "putting" in a new government?  I don't really think so, but we are giving them the protection, space, and guidance to allow them to try to build a government that will look out for the reasonable interests of the minorities as well as the majority, correct?

In my opinion, it's like this. The United States Military will do what the Commander in Chief directs them to do.  Some "people" don't like the Commander in Chief, they revert back to
"the election"  I refer to this as "snivelers row"  and I know that it's all about wanting the President to fail.
Fortunatly for us, we now  have a President that will stand up for what is right, and do what it takes to protect our Country, people, buildings. racetracks, ect.
Some people need to wear what I call "the hat" a simple baseball cap with a clothes pin holding a picture of the World Trade Centers being attacked by cowardly, ignorant, evil, dirty murderers, the picture hangs right in front of their face all day until they GET IT.
But some will march forward with blinders on no matter what.

My Nephew is a Combat Medic with the 222nd. Artillery Unit out of Utah, very proud of him.
When I see the war protesters with their stupid signs and dirty clothes,{freaks and fairies} I know the right thing is being done. Most of these these are the same croud that show up at the WTO meetings, supported by the scocialist, communist, and anarchist, yes, reasuring to  see these "people"

I think they need to start showing some of saddom's films of whats been going on over there, the films he watches every night. Hopefuly these will come out, but they will not be shown over here, as we have some respect for human life, and I don't think  most people here could  stomach it.
Showing the dogs being gassed in Afganistan did very little to fire up the peta people, very little, as any out cry would have helped the President's cause.

So I wonder when will there be an Iraqi Grand Prix? Maybe never, but those poor people will no longer be boiled in acid baths, and tortured with unspeakable brutality. Too bad the big cowards ran away, but we will get them soon.

Thanks to our Troops and their Familys and the leaders of OUR COUNTRY for doing what it takes to stop these atraucities in Iraq. If they don't find 1 WMD, they still have done the right thing, but these too will be found, and will not be showing up at a race track near you.

Super Dave, where do you do your Tarmac Drifting? I'd like to meet a good American sometime.

Very Sincerely,        Henry Madsen   #296 AM     Jacksonville Florida

            Proud Angry American.
 Thanks for the vent!

Me?  I live in Wisconsin.  Used to race everywhere a while ago.  Now I loose lots of money putting on a school here at Blackhawk Farms.  Should be in Daytona for ROC though.

Yeah, it is interesting when some groups will get very excited over a part of their cause, but when the same thing happens somewhere else, it's a non cause.  I really don't understand it.

There should be a certain respect for humanity for the reason only that we are men (yes, the general term, women included).  So, I do not understand the protests from certain sides against ousting the Iraqi regime when it was clear that there were extraordinary things going on there.  The reasoning for NOT going to Iraq was that, "...think of the harm that would be done to the children."

Excuse me?  I think a third of the population is young.  So, when you wipe out an area of 200,000 people, I think that takes care of over 60,000 kids right there.  Where is the morality in that?

As for Bush and the election, I think we're seeing the wisdom of the people that designed the voting system.  This is not a democracy where everyone has a perfectly equal part in all of this.  It's a republic where each of us has an equal say in our areas, and each area has an equal say.

I, for one, am glad for that.  I guess the last election was an education for us all.

What disappoints me is that the persons that wer so against all of this on the board don't want to talk about it.  I got accused of gloating, as though this is some kind of a race win.  And I don't gloat over race wins either.

I asked questions in a bunch of other posts, but I didn't get a response.  I did respond to the questions of those that had a different point of view.  Seemed as though my question always got a question as an answer.

I compare Saddam to Hitler. Hitler slaughtered the Jews and Saddam the Kurds and whomever else spoke against him. No one in this world needs to be treated like this.  The US in my opinion was justified. We exhausted diplomatic efforts. Chemical weapons will be found. We have not even probably seen 99% of the bunkers hidden under the country.  I am glad to see a President with Balls.  This man they call Bush has done good.  He was here with us for 09-11. I think the terrorist world and its allies really thought the US would sit back and do nothing but talk like it did under a certain former pres Bill C.  I think they now see the complete and dominate power of the US and its Military and how a democratic nation that is thousands of years younger than their 3rd world countries can operate so effectively.  Syria is now turning over Regime members, North Korea said Oh S**T, lets talk about our nuke program all of a sudden.  The terrorist world has awakend a sleeping Giant that has been asleep for a long time and now it is time to lay the smack down on their ass...Bin Laden..the man with so many balls is running like hell, Hussein is running or dead and was such a coward he could not show his ugly ass face the entire time..he in my opinion abandoned his people to save his own pathetic ass.  As for Tim Robins...he can forget me watching one of his movies.  These Hollywood people live in a dream world..they are pathetic and their money gets stuck in their heads.  They bash the Bush administration for killing civilians in the war...how many more thousands of civilians would be killed over the next 5 years by the Saddam Regime if he had not been ousted from power...probably thousands more than were killed in the war.  In this day and age we cant let these punks of terrorism rule our lives..it is time we kicked ass and finally have a leader and his command staff that are not afraid to stand up to the world and its nasty dictatators.  I will vote for Bush again in the next election.  I will not even watch the debates..my mind is set..he is the man for the next 4 years after this term.  He may not be the best with the economy, but we will not have an economy if we are wiped out by more planes hitting buildings and weapons of mass destruction.  Terrorist attacks get bigger and bigger each time they attack..next time may have been a VX nerve agent attack..where as a drop the size of a pin head will kill and adult in under 30 seconds in such a violent way that one would break their back from convulsing and siezing so badly.  It is grim and it is reality and it is now and it needs to be stopped.  And yes I am a republican and a former soldier US Army Active.  Lets have a good race season.

Well I for one have not paid any attention at all to who is protesting this war but the idea of boycotting these people has me wondering who are they? I hear Tim Robbins is one and I can bet another is Jane Fonda.

The Hollywood people are so irrelevant.

They make way too much money, few have much education beyond high school for all their talking.  They have never served their country.

I don't see them donating any money to help Iraqi's before or after this all.  So, they should just shut up.

But they can keep talking so I can know who to never see in a movie.
