Got the oil lines from BCM for my Duc today. I finished hooking up the electrics and filled it with diesel oil for the break-in. Then I reached over, crossed my fingers, and pushed the starter switch. Boooooya! Started right up, and man does it sound sweet!!! I'll be taking it to the dyno either Friday night or next Tuesday or Wednesday to finish up the break-in. Then all I have to do is re-safety wire it and clean the brake calipers one more time and I'm ready to go racing! Woohoo! :D ;) :) ;D 8)
congrats man, when we gonna see it in action?
May 3-4 at Jennings. If you don't get down this way, I'll be at the ROC at Daytona too! What a relief when it started right up...whew. :)
You Da Man !!........
Be kind to it this time! ;)
What fun would that be? ;D
Yea!!!!
Dawn ;D
QuoteWhat fun would that be? ;D
More fun than sitting at home with a busted-ass bike... ;D
I actually was never hard on the other one. I over-revved it once for a millisecond, but that was long before the blow-up, and it supposedly will rev to 10,000 safely and I ran it to about 9600 that time. I usually shift at around 8400-8600. I think I just caught an unfortunate bit of luck that week. Nothing went right at work, at the races, anywhere...one of those weeks. :)
congrats! Hope it gives you a long time of pleasure before it grenades again ;D
Thanks Kwak...and I hope you have a blast on your new bike for a long time before you decide to go through that crap to get a new one again. ;D

I dunno???,
maybe it's just me...... this sounds HIGHLY likely for a RACER :-/

"Bye guys, I'm going to the airport to wash my bike."
Just rode it around the block!!!! Woohoo!!! I forgot how strong this thing is and how hard it stops...lol. Rode my dad's Suzuki Bandit and my buddie's EX500....not quite the same. :D
Oh yeah, and that was all below 5000RPM's at less than 1/2 throttle. ;) Can't wait to get it on the dyno and broken in so I can let it rip at Jennings.

Careful Kris...I bet Kwak still has a lot of pent up anger from his ordeal that he's looking to get rid of...proabably look like something out of Rambo! ;D
Hey Brian, congrats on getting your bike back together.Tell Bobby Orr that James Carpenter says "hey". I worked with him at Westcoast and Boomers a long time ago. JamesC459
Cool...Bobby lives about 1/2 mile from me. Where do you live now? I'll be sure to tell him. Probably talk to him Sunday or Monday.
Powersports is back to being West Coast Motorcycles, by the way...in case you were wondering. :)
