Title: wellnut/expansion nut for belly pan
Post by: spinblue on August 04, 2010, 11:36:59 AM
After a recent event, open trailer, my belly pans filled with water.

I wrote kurveygirl and asked if she had something available. Her technician suggested the wellnut.

I found rubber expansion nuts at the hardware store. Before I drill a hole in the pan, I was hoping to get some insight. If this is the right tact, how it interacts with race inspection.

I know I can remove the pans (two bikes) to drain it after the fact but I'm looking wet race drain, wet travel and after the fact, that the water has accumulated.

Per the rule book you are allowed upto 2 holes 1" or smaller which must be plugged unless the race has been declared wet. Well nuts should work but just to keep tech happy I would probably put a dab of silicone on the end to seal it.
